15th Annual Nevada State Beekeepers Conference
Yerington, Nevada
The Hub of Lyon County!
February 20-22, 2025
Yerington Nevada: Nevada Lt. Governor, Stavros Anthony addressed and welcomed the conference attendees at the 15th Annual Nevada State Beekeepers Conference on Friday, February 21st, 1 p.m. in Yerington, Nevada at the Catholic Center.
Beekeepers are crucial because they actively manage honeybee populations, which are vital pollinators for a wide range of crops, ensuring the reproduction of many plants that produce our food supply; without beekeepers, the pollination process would be significantly less efficient, potentially impacting food production on a large scale.
Another reason why beekeeping is so important is that it helps preserve bee populations.
Beehives face a lot of challenges during the year — from cold winters to insufficient resources to human intervention. However, beekeepers do their best to help their hives survive through it all.
The beekeeping community also does a lot to battle misconceptions people have about honey bees. When people understand more about these helpful little creatures, they’re more likely to take measures to protect them.
