Are casinos fueling the Nevada’s sanctuary immigration problem?

Las Vegas! The city of bright lights and nightlife. Known to the world as “The Strip” and also dubbed as the Entertainment Capital of the world, with something Hollywood can’t give you. Casinos.
Casinos are the beat of the city. It’s a known fact that without the casinos, Vegas would probably drop off the map. They hold the cards… (no pun intended). With that, they have the largest amount of workers through a very prominent union called the Culinary Union. Let’s take a look at Culinary Workers Union Local 226.
What exactly is the Culinary Union? In Las Vegas we see and hear so much about them as they protest and march for better this and better that.
Well, allow me to give you some insight…straight off of their website… The Culinary Union is Nevada’s largest immigrant organization with members who come from 178 countries and speak over 40 different
languages. The Culinary Union has a diverse membership — approximately 55 percent women, 54 percent Latinx, 19 percent White, 15 percent Asian, 10 percent Black, and less than 1 percent Indigenous Peoples — and consists of guest room attendants, cocktail and food servers, porters, bellmen, cooks, bartenders, laundry and kitchen workers.
The LARGEST immigrant organization. Yes, the largest. Don’t get me wrong, we do value our legal immigrants, but in all reality, isn’t a work visa just another way to continue our endless chain migration. Do we all really think they are not voting in our elections? How would we even know? The DMV is handing out I.D.s like candy, with a voter registration form attached! Are we that naive? Apparently we are, because the Culinary Union has become a political push to vote. This is an actual program of the Culinary Union. Taken in complete context from their website, once again, the agenda continues….
2018: The UNITE HERE Culinary Union’s organizing program is the largest political effort in Nevada and was comprised of 350 workers who have taken a union contracted leave-of-absence from their hospitality jobs to talk to their coworkers everyday by phone, in employee dining rooms on the Las Vegas Strip and in Downtown Las Vegas, and on the doors in neighborhoods in Washoe and Las Vegas — a field program unmatched by any other in the country. By the end of Election Day, the Culinary Union’s political field team knocked on over 370,000 doors in Las Vegas and Reno and had quality one-on-one conversations with approximately 80,000 voters across Nevada statewide.
Aside from being a political caravan, the Union is also one to “strike” at the drop of a hat, everytime their contract is up. You see them with American flags, proud of the country that feeds them, while demanding more and more from the employers. And guess what. The casinos are usually the first to break and give in to their demands.
Just today we saw lines around the corner of the DMV in New York, all undocumented immigrants, or illegal aliens, however you want to label them. The reality is the same. They are not allowed to vote in our elections! Do you think for one second the majority are not voting anyway? This is a major issue that we need to talk about. Why is no one talking about non-citizens voting? Is this how Nevada flipped? I can almost guarantee it.
Now let’s step back and really look at the Visa program. There is a slew of Work Visa programs listed on Las Vegas Defense Group. One certain Visa Program is the EB-5. This specific visa is set forth for those immigrants who create jobs; they have the opportunity to stay permanently. We saw this with the Lucky Dragon Casino, which drew 179 foreign investors, all done under the EB-5 Visa program, stated on Bloomberg News.
