Ilhan Abdullahi Omar is the U.S. Representative for Minnesota’s 5th congressional district since 2019; she is a naturalized American citizen who always expresses her hateful feelings for the United States of America. She is the first Somali-American, the first naturalized citizen from Africa, and the first non-white woman elected from Minnesota, and one of the first two Muslim women (along with Rashida Tlaib of Michigan) to serve in Congress.
A frequent critic of Israel, Omar has denounced its settlement policy and military campaigns in the occupied Palestinian territories, and what she describes as the influence of pro-Israel lobbies such as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
In early 2019, Omar was criticized by a number of Democrats, Republicans and Jewish civil rights groups for comments about American support for Israel that they said drew on anti-Semitic tropes. Omar apologized for some of the remarks.
I personally don’t believe, as others do, that she should go back to her native Somalia. I just believe that if she is not happy here and considers America a terrible country, she should renounce her American citizenship and go to whatever country she considers best and where she could be very happy.
Of course, Somalia is not going to give her the opportunity to be part of its Congress, but she can do wonders by defending the people of her country as an activist and protestor of the oppression from Somali government forces and other foreign troops that resulted in civilian deaths.
Many of her country women face sexual violence. She needs to stop defending immigrant children in the United States and be more concerned about the number of children in her native Somalia that have been arbitrarily arrested and terrorized.
There is no reason for this woman to attack and criticize President Donald Trump when she should be attacking the president of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed.
Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed became president of a country that is synonymous with anarchy and terrorism, more or less with the same principles of Rep. Ilhan Omar.
As a matter of introducing history to the present time, the story of how Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed came to be the leader of a country that is synonymous with anarchy and terrorism is both a classic American immigrant’s tale and one about the age-old conflict between basic democratic principles and the forces of political corruption.
It begins in 1988, when Mohamed, then a first secretary for the Somali embassy in Washington, D.C., decided it was too dangerous to return home and applied for asylum. Back then, the U.S. was inclined to say yes to such requests.
Maybe the people of the United States will get lucky, and without asking Ilhan Omar to return to Somalia, she’ll move back to bring to her native Somalia all she learned from her time spent in the United States Congress.
I am sure that she won’t be able to verbally attack people in Somalia as she is doing in the United States as freedom of expression is very limited in Somalia and authorities there are arresting journalists and critics of the government of Al-Shabab.
Women are treated like garbage there and never like human beings deserving respect. But at least she won’t have to complain about living in the United States anymore.
