AngelNV accepting applications from startup founders for investment consideration

Entrepreneurs can vie for a $400,000 investment

LAS VEGAS – Operated by StartUpNV, a statewide nonprofit incubator and accelerator for Nevada-based startups, the AngelNV Entrepreneur Bootcamp for startup founders is now accepting applications to be considered for the program’s grand prize investment of $400,000. Applications are due Jan. 20 and can be accessed online at https://gust.com/organizations/angelnv-3/public_profile. Founders are encouraged to apply this month – before Dec. 31 – to take advantage of the early bird fee of $29 per application; after Dec. 31, the application fee rises to $49.

The investment marks the culmination of the free 3-month AngelNV Entrepreneur Bootcamp. It will be awarded to one company at a final pitch event in April 2023. Only companies that complete the application will be considered for the investment. Participation in the bootcamp classes is not required but is recommended as the program teaches startups the fundamentals of attracting venture capital, including perfecting their pitch, conducting market research, and developing a deck to attract investors. Founders can still register online to attend the free Entrepreneur Bootcamp as sessions are ongoing until Jan. 17 and are also available online.

The $400,000 investment is awarded after exhaustive due diligence is performed. It is comprised of funding from accredited angel investors who invest in the AngelNV Conference Fund and matching funds from the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) administered by the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. In the past, enough money was raised by the participating angel investors to make the grand prize investment as well as smaller investments in additional companies.

StartUpNV launched AngelNV in 2020 to foster an angel investment network for Nevada-based startups and attract to the state scalable startup businesses and entrepreneurs with big ideas to build a more diversified and resilient economy. Now offering its third session of bootcamps, AngelNV is building a bridge between entrepreneurs and angel investors by educating startups on raising capital and teaching accredited investors how to invest wisely in startups.
