Chris Ruggiero, at 25 years old, has positioned himself as a headliner in only five years.
His youthful charm, choice of songs, and sparkling personality brought him immediately to
the attention of people in the music business.
I had a great streaming interview with Ruggiero last year and viewed several of his videos but there is nothing like seeing the real person on stage. With sold-out performances in Las Vegas and across the United States he recently returned Sunday, February 13, to appear at the Notoriety, downtown Las Vegas. Ruggiero’s moves during his songs were professional expressing the feeling of each.
The theme for this show was “Silly Love Songs”, although his choices were not silly but some of the famous popular love songs of the 60’s, and 70’s. We remember them because they meant so much expressing love in many ways.
Ruggiero performed duets with three members of his excellent six piece band adding a new dimension. The audience were thrilled with Ruggiero’s songs as they gave several standing ovations and much applause.
This was an evening duplicating the mood of earlier times when many in the audience were young. Ruggiero discussed not knowing he could sing, but a friend arranged an audition.
Some of Ruggiero’s songs during his previous tour were Doo Wop-style but this visit he kept to love songs. Ruggiero has been described as an “old soul” from early eras.
