My Point of View/By Rolando Larraz
I don’t really like to write about national politics, I rather concentrate on local news and issues that we have here where I live, where I work, and where I share most of my time with friends, but sometimes I have to jump to the reality that some national issues are of all of us concerns.
In many occasions I have said that I do speak with an accent, but I do not think with an accent, and sometimes I give my opinion to some candidates that I like, I am close to speak with them in a personal basis and some time I relay my message via campaign managers or via articles I write with the hope that they read it and think about what I said or I write because when I like a candidate, I like that candidate to win.
I have also said many times that the bigger mistake campaign managers make is keeping the candidate away from the people that may or may not will be voting for “their” candidate; keeping the candidate away from the voter is a bigger mistake because the people like to talk with candidates and sometimes even tell them what they are thinking.
This is one time that I think if I have the opportunity to speak with President Trump, without cameras, without fanfare, just me and him, after all I am not the type of person that like be photograph, I believe that the only picture I have taken with any well-known personality is with my friend Mayor Oscar Goodman when he was the
Mayor of Las Vegas and he asked me to take a picture with him.
I never took a picture with my friend Sammy Davis Jr. and now I regret it, never took pictures with Jackie Mason, Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin to mention a few well known names that I was honored to have a one-on-one friendship with.
Heck I don’t have pictures with dear friends like attorneys John Fagden, Pete Flangas or Bucky Buchanan who were very dear to me and I shed tears over their death. Bucky’s death was very painful because it was not expected, he went home to change clothes and coming out of his home he died. Pete was much older than Bucky and was ill for a while, but the pain is the same.
I change after I started my television show and then the online broadcast on Radio Tribune, but before that I never allow my picture to be taken by any one, I have no reason to hide from anyone, I just don’t like to be photograph; one time I almost took the film (if anyone know nowadays what a film was) out of someone at the airport because I thought he took a picture of me, but he was too quick to explain he was taken a picture of his friend that was almost behind me.
However, let’s go to what took me to write this week about a national issue and about someone I admire and respect, President Donald John Trump who lately has been in the news more than he should; in fact I will recommend to my President to follow the mode of former President Barack Obama who is in his third term in the White House.
It is a fact that former President Barack Obama is getting ready to officially run for the White House again, not behind doors like he is now, but openly running for the presidency one more time and most likely in the same ticket with former First Lady, Former Secretary of State and former presidential candidate with a shameful background in the Embassy of Benghazi other wise known as Hilary Clinton who by the way now is coming with a new talent, she now know how to cry in public pretending to be a sentimental human being.
President Trump should be more careful about what he said, how he said it, and to whom he said it, President Trump has to realize that he is a magnet to acquire people who betray him, people who get close to him
with the only intention of becoming wealthy without working or doing anything for the president.
President Trump should stay out of the television cameras, the microphones or any other object that can attract people that wish him ill and like to see him making a mistake to embarrass him, it is too early to talk about running for office and the more he talks the more he opens the eyes of his enemies, the more risk he takes and the wider he opens the doors for his enemies to attack him.
I hope for once the president pays attention to an old man who speaks with an accent, but does not think with an accent.
