My special celebrity guest Executive Chef Anthony Ruiz appeared in the Gordon Ramsey Hell’s Kitchen competition Young Guns. With an impressive number of positions as executive chef/ executive sous at the Hilton, and several other luxury resorts- executive head chef at The Riverhouse Gruene, executive chef at The Bevy Hotel, banquet manager, executive sous chef, and most recently head chef at the New American restaurant Texas Bistro all mostly around Texas.
At 23, appearing at Hell’s Kitchen brought Ruiz to the next level winning 6th place out of 20 candidates.
For his new position with the Texas Bistro Restaurant, they welcomed Ruiz with meet and greet events for 
their customers. Ruiz cooks his own creative dishes and
sets the menu. What an opportunity to try his food combinations! These exciting dishes are featured in my article.
Ruiz told his story about the difficulty of being judged by the famous Gordon Ramsey known for his temper. With trying to please his team mates, the interaction of all of the other contestants, and the perfection of preparing the required cuisine, there was a lot of action going on.
I feel because Ruiz’s mother is Mexican and father, Italian, he has a lead knowing the cuisine of two countries.
It’s difficult enough to prepare these special dishes, but now that he survived Hell’s Kitchen, Ruiz will be a better chef. Ruiz cooks from 100 to 150 covers a day.
He is also helping to promote “Bounce Back” for alcoholic and addicted culinary workers. He explained, “They work sometimes 13-14 hours a day and face a lot of pressures of the business.” For information about Anthony Ruiz, see Instagram.
