Candidate Joey Gilbert plans to sponsor 4 debates

Special to the Las Vegas Tribune
“Deliberation and debate are the way you stir the soul of our democracy.” —J. Jackson
Nevada Republican gubernatorial candidate Joey Gilbert announced today his campaign’s plan to sponsor four debates in advance of the Primary Election on June 14, 2022.
Gilbert stated, “Our campaign is proud to be presenting all Nevada voters with the opportunity to see and hear the top candidates’ positions in person.”
The debates will be held in January, February, March, and April in the cities of Elko, Reno, Henderson, and Las Vegas, respectively. Specific dates and venues will be announced in the next several weeks. Voters
unable to attend in-person will be able to watch the debates live on social and local media.
Invited to participate in each debate will be the four top-polling Republican candidates, as determined by recent polls.
Each debate will be facilitated by two co-moderators, selected from the communities hosting them. Debates will be held in a combination of Town Hall and Lincoln/Douglas formats. Topics of each debate will be
released to invited candidates approximately two weeks prior to each event.
“The 2022 elections,” said Gilbert, “will largely determine the future of our state and nation. In the history of America, face-to-face debates have provided voters the best way to make informed choices by comparing candidates’ character, moral courage, and competency.”
