REVIEW: “James Dimmare starring in Martinis and Magic” By Sandy Zimmerman

I was impressed with James Dimmare’s “Martinis and Magic” show, a refreshing change from the usual magical shows! The moment James Dimmare stepped on the stage, there was a swagger in his movements and made the stage his own. During his show, Dimmare was so comfortable in performing whenever he turned, he appeared “as smooth as silk”, as though he was dancing. Dimmare explained, “I am bringing back old Vegas in the style of the 50’s and 60’s!”

Dimmare is described as having “The Style of Astaire” and the “Cool of Sinatra”. As an illusionist/ magician, Dimmare adds his own personal touch to the show.

James Dimmare is the Star of “Martinis and Magic” at the MINT, yes the name MINT is back with an entire new look and sign dedicated to the original casino of the past.

Not only practicing multiple forms of illusions and magic, Dimmare amazes audiences with his own original work! Perhaps his magic is different because of all of his early years performing in night clubs around the world!

When his tricks included doves, he was called the “Dove Whisperer” then he moved to creating other new tricks.

Dimmare is dedicating some shows to a holiday theme for timely entertainment. As he calls his shows “Martinis and Magic with a twist of comedy and a hula girl”, his shows sparkle with humor and fun for the whole family!

I arrived in Las Vegas in the 1985 and loved Dimmare’s “Martinis and Magic” show, it was like “STEPPING INTO EARLY LAS VEGAS AGAIN”!

The “Martinis and Magic” show is reasonably priced! No cover, one drink minimum, every Sunday, soon to add more days to his schedule, doors open at 6 pm with the show at 7 pm. The MINT Tavern is located at 332 W. Sahara, in Las Vegas’ famous celebrity district where the stars of early Las Vegas came to drink and relax close to the strip.
