Clark County crime rising

(AP) — A Clark County judge has found a woman accused of killing her husband in 2005, and a former college professor five years ago, is incompetent to stand trial.
LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting on Las Vegas Boulevard overnight Monday. Detectives say they responded to a reported incident that occurred at a motel in the 3900 block of Las Vegas Boulevard, near Four Season Drive, at about 1 A.M.
LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The woman accused of shoving a man off of a bus was back in court today. Cadesha Bishop had a status check and her trial is set to begin Oct. 25.
LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas police are investigating a homicide scene early Thursday morning. Authorities report they were called to the 5300 block of W. Rome Boulevard, near Decatur Boulevard, with reports of a shooting. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says a fight broke out at a home at that location between two people over property outside.
HENDERSON (KTNV) — Henderson police have arrested a 28-year-old woman in connection with a deadly shooting from earlier this week. Lucretia Smith was taken into custody on Tuesday and is facing an open murder charge after a 31-year-old man died from a gunshot wound with police identifying Smith as the main suspect.
LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — An officer that was arrested in an organized crime theft ring in May will not face prosecution. The Clark County District Attorney decided against Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s request to prosecute this officer. An arrest report from LVMPD on May 21 shows Samuelito Quijano was arrested in connection to a theft ring involving home improvement stores.
These are only a few of the incidents reported by only one television station; we never expect Channel 3 or Channel 8 to report any negative news concerning Sheriff Joe Lombardo because they bow to the Sheriff regardless of what the issue may be but Las Vegas residents already know that we are publishing it because we got two calls responding to last week’s front-page article about “Lombardo lies to the community again” and the Las Vegas Tribune prides itself on writing the truth always, regardless of the consequences.
Did anyone expect that officer to be prosecuted? Of course not. If Metro protects its snitches, why would they not protect a real officer with a badge and a gun? If they were to allow officers to be prosecuted, the Metro Administration would not need to force officers to be vaccinated; most of them would be behind bars.
Channel 3, as we have reported earlier, is only good for weather, traffic updates, infomercials, and national news that many likely have seen earlier and will likely see it again at seven o’clock on the national news.
If Sheriff Lombardo cannot manage his own troops, how will he be able to manage the entire state of Nevada as a governor? Sheriff Lombardo is a ghost sheriff. Will he be able to turn into a real politician and be seen more often in the community?
