“Suzanne De Laurentiis: A Woman of Many Talents”

By Sandy Zimmerman

When you see a Suzanne De Laurentiis hosting horror films, she brings her beauty and charming personality to the screen! Acclaimed producer, director, actress, singer, philanthropist
Suzanne De Laurentiis appeared on award-winning producer/host Sandy Zimmerman’s Las Vegas TV Television Program.

De Laurentiis explains, “I’m really a horror fan growing up in the 60’s watching “Dark Shadows” which paved the way for me to appreciate our genre. I have great guests who were either in the movies or in simular movies.”

SZ: “It’s interesting because you mix your show, first you talk about the films and discuss details during breaks then you have a guest.”

Watch “Suzanne’s Saturday Night’s Scares” and you can compare the horror films of the 50’s and early 70’s with those of today! Her program was fun, as I saw “Sisters of Death”, one of the older classic thriller films from 1976 voted best film of that year with Shelly Winters in a small part.

The BIG SURPRISE, there was NO BLOOD OR GORE!! The scene cut immediately from a
close-up of seeing one woman shoot her gun to the victim lying on the floor. These were from a gentler time, it was so different to see!

She commented, “It’s more of being scared of the things you don’t see! Yes those are rally different, I tried to find the ones that are off-the-beaten-path.”

SZ: “Those films have so many surprises  that you don’t expect!”

Her guest this week was well-known actress Morgan Fairchild who appeared in a horror film in 1978.

SZ: “One film I remember which began an entire series of films based on it’s exciting original plot- “10 Little Indians” (1965) where the murderer invited a group of people on a boat, to an island, in the desert, and each place was to a remote location where there was no one to help them.”

Suzanne De Laurentiis began her career as an opera singer with training at Carnegie Hall.
De Laurentiis appeared on Broadway, off-Broadway, in films and TV, and more recently decided she wanted to be behind the camera as producer developing over 100 films, TV features and documentaries.

Celebrating 35 years winning awards in show business, producer Suzanne De Laurentiis announces Infamous Jersey Devil legend to be the topic of the next Very Frightening Tales and more.

With all of her business activities, De Laurentiis makes time raising money and awareness for veteran’s charities and developed a program trains wounded veterans to work successfully in the film/television industry.  www.suzannedelaurentiisproduction.com
