Another police officer victim of the communist sentiment

Officer Sara Erwin

Officer Sara Erwin

A twenty-one-year veteran of the Hopewell Township, New Jersey Police Department has been fired after posting on her personal Facebook on her free time her personal opinion showing that the freedom of expression is no longer a right for police officers under a socialist mentality of the town or city they live in, work in and in which they serve the community.
Officer Sarah Erwin for twenty-one years has served and protected her community, but apparently that does not give her the right to exercise her freedom of speech and her freedom of expression under the First Amendment, as she is entitled to like any other American living in an alleged free country because she lives in a socialist-controlled community. Officer Sarah Erwin posted in her Facebook account, in her free time, her sentiments and her opinion; she did not use her job description or her employer’s name. Officer Erwin made only one mistake—she was under the false impression that she was still in a free country where the Constitution works and applies to everyone alike.
This is what Sarah Erwin, not Officer Sarah Erwin, posted in her personal Facebook account, thinking that she was still living in the
United States of America.
So, on the morning of June 1, 2020, Sarah took to her personal Facebook page to voice her concerns…
“Just checking in to say thank you to those that reached out to make sure I and my coworkers were doing ok as we worked the night shift
this weekend. I have been kind of quiet regarding the protests and riots because quite frankly I could not find the right words. Last night as I left for work, I had my 2 kids crying for me not to go to work. I do not think I have ever felt the way I did last night. And then I watched people I know and others I care about going into harm’s way. I love my police family like my own… So when you share posts and things on Facebook I would really appreciate if you would THINK before doing so. I have seen so many [Black Lives Matter] hashtags in these posts. Just to let you know — they are terrorists. They hate me. They hate my uniform. They do not care if I die. So kindly, if you feel that the movement, I mentioned is what you like, then delete me, unfriend me, and I will also do the same. I’m done with it.” —Sarah Erwin Because the First Amendment guarantees her the right to speak freely no matter who is offended by it, it made absolutely no sense when shortly after making that comment, leftist elected officials in the Hopewell Town Council FIRED her for daring to criticize BLM for their terrorist-like behavior.
Las Vegas Tribune has been saying continuously, since the mockery trial of Minnesota Police Officer Derek Chauvin, that the police
officers in the United States of America are on their own; they don’t have the backing of their Chief, their fellow officers, their
immediate supervisors, or the elected officials in their respective cities and communities.
We, as everyone else, may have a sour taste in our mouth having had our own encounters with police officers on patrol, but we always
remind our readers that unlike their fellow detectives who are able to (cowardly or not) hide under their plainclothes Kmart suits and
thirty-year-old cowboy boots, the uniformed police officers are an open target every time they get out of their patrol car for whatever
reason.
The Las Vegas Tribune for many years has reminded its readers that when they get stopped by a uniformed police officer that they maintain the calm and obey the officer’s command; the street is not the place to argue with a police officer who, as a human being, may or may not be wrong; that is what the courts are for.
That is why we have written about the risk that police officers may face when they stop a Black driver or a Black person walking on any of the streets of their cities.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Undersheriff Chris Darcy, in a press conference approximately two weeks ago, stated “It’s a victory for justice,” referring to the guilty verdict of the Minnesota police officer who was tried for the death of a Black man resisting arrest.
The prosecutors in the trial that lasted two weeks brainwashed the jurors by saying that the defendant did not resist the police officers, but those who were not prohibited from watching television saw three police officers trying to place a huge Black man in the back seat of one police cruiser.
As long as the community does not respect the uniform of those police officers, there is not going to be peace; as long as there still are
bad apple Detectives like Mike Bunker, Rod Mathis, Max Huggins Sr., Bobby Hitt, Roy Chandler and many others in Metro’s past, plus the new era of uniformed police officers like B. Foster (badge number 16314), and R. Lopez, who both have been known to exhibit arrogance and abusiveness, especially toward citizens who do not show aggressiveness or resist the orders of the police officer like that Black man in Minneapolis did, what we have been seeing will continue to be seen.
These who believe that Police Officer Sarah Erwin should not have been fired for freely expressing her opinion on her own time may be able to support and help her by contacting the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund and write a note to Officer Erwin encouraging her not to give up on her fight for justice because right now she needs the warm encouragement and support of her community and the entire nation as a whole. Show her that she is not alone.
