April Brucker appears as special guest in the “BurlesQ Show” at the Alexis Resort’s Athena 
Showroom, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, at 10 pm.
April realized she wanted to work with puppets after seeing Edgar Burgan on TV, at the age of 13 and swiftly performed her first professional gig at 15.
April has more than 30 custom-made puppets, each with their own character and personality. She said, “Each puppet should have a room of their own. They rule the house!”
I asked, “Do you know they are real persons, alive?”
She explained, “No, each of them have a lot of clothes, accessories, and other things.”
April has a skit around the type of men she dated- a fugitive, convict, and others. She has given up seeking Mr. Right and now is desperately seeking Mr. OKAY!
This attractive, young woman has appeared on the “Last Comic Standing”, “The Today Show”,
TLC- “The Layover”, Travel Channel, Entertainment Tonight, CBS Television-“Inside Edition”, several Comedy Clubs, and many more.
April, one of the few female ventriloquists, follows three professions as an actress (SAG-AFTRA), comedian and ventriloquist.
Another funny skit happened while April had a part in a comedy film produced on a city street. A stranger walked on the set, didn’t realize they were acting, and was mad when he heard the puppet criticize the homeless woman. April said, “It’s not me, it’s the puppet!”
Following April’s interview with the Daily Mail, her story went viral to China, India, Russia, Singapore, Indonesia, Columbia, Brazil, Guatemala, and Kenya.
She is currently writing a book on ventriloquism- “Don’t Read My Lips.”
