In Las Vegas, it is not who you know, but who wants to protect you and the case of Nellis Air Force Base Master Sgt. Danielle Lynch is a good example of it.
According to a Review-Journal report on August 11 by reporter Rio Lacanlale. “Nellis Air Force Base Master Sgt. Danielle Lynch lay in the
bar parking lot unresponsive — eyes wide open — as the suspect in her assault climbed into his Cadillac and drove away.”
After Terrance Levell Kelly, the perpetrator of the assault, was arrested and then released, Danielle Lynch died of her injuries and the charges against Kelly were upgraded to murder and an order for his arrest was issued.
Kelly stayed just one minute after Lynch hit her head, the report states, and was gone by the time officers arrived. Kelly was charged with one count of domestic battery with substantial body harm and was free to go after posting bail, but two weeks after she was assaulted during the “domestic-related argument” Lynch died and charges against Kelly were updated to murder and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
On March 15, 2019, Victor Cruz shot Raul Moran in the back of his head while he was walking to a nearby apartment building alone and unarmed. Victor Cruz, 25, was arrested by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on a felony charge of battery with a deadly weapon.
However, two days later Raul Moran died at a local hospital, but those who constantly remind the victims and their families that “criminals have rights too” have yet to upgrade the charges against Cruz to murder with a deadly weapon, according to court and jail records.
“Victor Cruz may know someone in the right place because up to press time his charges have not been upgraded and the criminal record of Raul Moran’s assailant is being hidden by the police and prosecutors alike” wrote this reporter in May 2019 in a front page article in the Las Vegas Tribune.
At the time, the online Clark County Detention Center showed Victor Cruz “In Custody” but no one has physically seen him in the local detention center.
Also at the time of Moran’s murder sources close to the case told the Las Vegas Tribune that “Victor Cruz was placed on House Arrest and was home with his family resting and eating home meals.”
One year later a couple of Clark County Deputy District Attorneys who were representing the State asked Judge Scisentos to dismiss the murder case against Victor Cruz and the family of Raul Moran wonders why the murder case was dismissed at the request of the two prosecutors in the case and wonder who is protecting Cruz.
It is very clear that someone is protecting Victor Cruz due to the fact that normally it is the defense attorney who asks for dismissal of a case and not the prosecutors.
The District Attorney’s refusal to explain the reason for the dismissal is also a very questionable behavior; the Judge in the case, Joseph Scisentos, throwing a Las Vegas Tribune reporter out of “his” courtroom and threatening the reporter with jailing him for asking questions and the real and obvious protection of Homicide Detective Gary King for an assailant that has three prior felony charges all dismissed is also very questionable.
Lieutenant Ray Spenser, in charge of the homicide unit, refuses to speak to the Las Vegas Tribune by not returning phone calls from the newspaper.
Sources close to the case told the Las Vegas Tribune that Lieutenant Ray Spenser may be afraid to upset Detective King because of his close relationship with former Clark County District Attorney David Roger whose law office is representing Victor Cruz; and he also might be afraid of the current District Attorney, Steve Wolfson.
However, the question remains why charges against Terrance Levell Kelly, a decorated Air Force veteran were upgraded and the charges
against Victor Cruz, a three-time loser with three prior felonies, were dismissed.
Las Vegas Tribune urges Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo, AKA Joe Lombardo, Lieutenant Ray Spenser, in charge of the homicide unit of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Justice of the Peace Joseph Scisentos, AKA Joe Scisentos, and Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson to man up and come clean by answering our questions in the assassination case of Raul Moran.
