Whenever St. Jude’s Ranch for Children schedules a benefit concert, they really do it right! Instead of only one celebrity, there were several in the same show! I saw a fantastic performance reaching back to Las Vegas’ past with Mike Shapiro’s “Reckless in Las Vegas” tribute to Sammy Davis, Jr., Dean Martin, and so many other stars. Mike sang the classic songs while mega-video screens displayed each of the classic stars.
Continuing the show with Seven-time Best of Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year award-winner, the exceptional rock singer Zowie Bowie. After interviewing award-winning Zowie Bowie (real name Chris Phillips) on red carpets for years, this was the first time I saw his show AND WHAT ACTION!
Bowie sensually moved his hips to the beat of the music and became dramatic at times raising his fist and showing emotion on his face. I enjoyed Bowie’s performance especially when he danced while holding the long microphone stand, it was so spontaneous.
These were Bowie’s own creative interpretations placing himself into each song bringing so much to his upbeat show.
Zowie Bowie performs at both, the Fremont Street Experience and the Rock’s Lounge in the Red Rock Hotel and Casino singing many of the top-40 hits, Hip-Hop, classic dance music and as a complete switch, he previously performed on “Vintage Vegas” big band (South Point).
The show also included Two-time GRAMMY® nominee, legendary singer, songwriter, entertainer Clint Holmes, the sensational singer/impressionist Kelly Clinton Holmes
