Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo gave his annual State of Metro address last Wednesday, February 5, and the Las Vegas Review-Journal complained that the newspaper was not invited for the second year in a row.
Apparently, Channel 8 News was the only local media outlet invited to the event.
The Review-Journal can now feel what it is like to be discriminated against by the Clark County Sheriff, something the Las Vegas Tribune has felt since Lombardo took over the reins of Metro in 2015, forgetting every time he goes to the County Commissioners crying poverty and asking for more money for Metro, that Metro Police is funded by the public and every member of this community.
Of course, Las Vegas Tribune ignores the discrimination toward the publication because Lombardo is not the only one; Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman and Clark County School District Superintendent Jesus Jara can be added to the list.
Las Vegas Tribune city editor, Kevin Child, was denied entrance to the School District annual public speech.

Holier than thou preaching of Never-Trumpers I am glad all that nonsense about the impeachment is over and that even the majority of the people completely forgot about the famous whistleblower, who, in my humble opinion, never existed. I believed since the very beginning that such a person was just a ghost invented by Adam Schiff and/or Nancy Pelosi.
Speaking of Nancy Pelosi, that woman has bragged that she is Catholic and has been praying for President Trump. I don’t know what kind ofCatholic she is because she displays a great amount of hate toward the man.
I was born, raised and educated in the Catholic faith and I don’t remember ever hearing the word hate in all my teachings.
The poor woman inspires nothing but pity; she doesn’t even have grain of class. She probably thought people were going to applaud her when the whole world saw her tearing her up the copy of President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address after he delivered the speech. Wrong! Many criticized her and she proved to the nation she has no class and she is not House Speaker material.
Then, we have candidate Elizabeth Warren commenting about President Trump speaking during National Prayer Day, expressing her opinion, saying “What does he know about faith or prayer.” She even had the audacity to say that his is not the type of government we want. WE? “We” are too many people and I don’t want to be included in her socialist mentality.
What does she know about his faith? And prayer? Everybody has different ways to communicate with the Good Lord above; maybe she doesn’t comprehend that because maybe she communicates with the spirits of Marx and Lenin.
Another subject of national interest is the ousting of the two government officials, Lt. Colonel Alexander Vindman and the Ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland, both of whom testified against the president at his impeachment hearings.
Mr. Trump waited too long. If I were in Mr. Trump’s shoes, I would have asked them both to leave the day after their testimony.
According to news reports, Nancy Pelosi said in a statement that Vindman’s ousting was “a clear and brazen act of retaliation that showcases the president’s fear of the truth.”
How narrow-minded can this Pelosi woman be? This is not a matter of retaliation; any military man such as Lt. Col. Vindman should have known he was doing wrong by betraying the president. This man can no longer be trusted; people like Vindman could very easily sell the
country to the highest bidder — the enemy.
With his actions Lt. Col. Vindman destroyed his job, his career and on the way out destroyed the career of his twin brother, as well.

Homeless situation and the new City Ordinance
We cannot forget a local issue of great interest: the “Homeless situation and the new City Ordinance” that was and is a waste of paper, a waste of words, and a false hope to the members of this community who are suffering the consequences.
Apparently, the Metropolitan Police Department is not going to enforce the ordinance because they feel they cannot criminalize the homeless, but they feel it’s perfectly okay to abuse the members of this community, the working people who are being abused by those people the Metro officers want to protect.
Not only do we have to pay rent, electricity, and business license fees to the city, but we also have the expense of buying cameras to protect our properties, and we are the ones who get to clean up after them. Now we find they are also cutting the cables of the security cameras to be able to do whatever they want to do.
They don’t realize that before they reached the cameras, those cameras already had captured their pictures, so we know who they are. Does it help to call 311, the call center for Metro? Of course not; you can spend hours for someone to answer the line, and wait another three days for an officer to show up — if they ever will.
Metro doesn’t want to criminalize those people, but Metro is promoting crime by allowing them to terrorize members of the community they aresupposed to serve and protect.
If you ask any of those people sleeping under cars on private property to leave, they just tell you to go f*** yourself and continue on with their business, because they are confident Metro will never show up to do the job they are being paid to do.
Metro Police do not want to criminalize the homeless people, but they are criminalizing the business owners of the downtown area.
