As I was scrolling through the news to see what was being said about 9/11 today, 17 years after the fact, I was surprised to find the above headline, which naturally piqued my interest. While I am not what you’d call a conspiracy theorist, I am also not one to accept explanations that do not ring true with me.
I remember thinking, as I was watching the original footage of the disaster on TV, that it just didn’t seem right that the Twin Towers would collapse in that way as a result of the plane crash. I was just getting on a bus heading for L.A. when I heard the news come over the TV in the bus terminal. No one could believe what they were seeing and
hearing. Even though my seatmate had her husband on her phone and was hearing the TV news as it was being reported, I couldn’t wait to get to my destination so I could further learn about this on my own.
Over the next several weeks and months as news or information about this horrible tragedy was surfacing, I was hearing about the event from behind the official mainstream news reporting and from those who were uncovering what they believed was the real story. The more the “official” story was elaborated on, the more I was feeling that there was a lot that was not being revealed.
Here is something I found online today (9/11/18), under Alternative News, written by Arjun Walla: “Today, we have thousands of architects and engineers, many academicians and even peer-reviewed studies that show there is no
possible way that planes could have brought down the two towers, as well as the official story about the collapse of building number seven, which wasn’t even hit by a plane. This is why the global citizenry, and judging by the latest polls, the American citizenry, do not believe the official story put out by the government regarding what really happened on that day. It’s not because we are stupid, it’s not because we are ‘conspiracy theorists,’ it’s simply because we questioned what was being told to us via mainstream media, and decided to investigate for ourselves.”
As I further investigated the story behind this horrific tragedy, I came upon the following: Two Hit, Three Down –— The Biggest Lie National Academy of Science member and Distinguished Professor endorses David Ray Griffin’s work exposing the truth of 9/11 By Lynn Margulis
“When it comes to the American people, and the global population not believing in an ‘official explanation’ for an event, 9/11 is at the top of the list, along with many others, unfortunately. Democracy doesn’t really seem to exist. Instead, we have what I like to refer to as the ‘illusion of democracy’….”
Further: “More than half of the American people today don’t believe the official story that the government put out with regard to 9/11. This is a long list, full of thousands of architects, engineers, scientists, military and political whistleblowers, and more.”
And: “All three buildings were destroyed by carefully planned, orchestrated and executed controlled demolition,” said Professor Lynn Margulis, Department of Geosciences, University of Massachusetts at Amherst and National Academy of Science member, one of many academics who has been very outspoken regarding 9/11.
“For example, just last year physicists published a study titled “15 Years Later, On The Physics Of High-Rise Building Collapses” in the European Scientific Journal.”
“In it, they conclude that: “It bears repeating that fires have never caused the total collapse of a steel-framed high-rise before or since 9/11. Did we witness an unprecedented event three separate times on September 11, 2001? The
NIST reports, which attempted to support that unlikely conclusion, fail to persuade a growing number of architects, engineers, and scientists. Instead, the evidence points overwhelmingly to the conclusion that all three buildings were destroyed by controlled demolition. Given the far-reaching implications, it is morally imperative that this hypothesis be the subject of a truly scientific and impartial investigation by responsible authorities.”
And as Anjun Walla continued: “As a researcher myself, it’s of the utmost importance to gather information from multiple sources, and do your own fact checking instead of letting somebody else do it for you. This is critical
thinking, and it’s needed by all of us today, especially in a world where we rely on a television set and corporate media to tell us ‘what is.’…
“There are still many people who instantly place those who question the official narrative of 9/11 within the conspiracy realm. They do this automatically, without ever investigating or questioning for themselves, simply trusting in whatever narrative is provided to them via mainstream media. This is partly due to fear — it’s easier, and
more comfortable, and less frightening to believe there are enemies farfar far from home who wish us harm than to consider that the people we chose to put in positions of great power here in our own country are manipulating us, and lying to us. It would definitely bring up some cognitive dissonance, and this is why the ‘conspiracy’ reaction is
still prevalent, because there are some who believe that ignorance is bliss.
“The latest polls show that 54.3 percent of the American population doesn’t believe the official story that their government told them, and that they ‘strongly agree’ or ‘report’ their belief that something else actually happened on that day.”
Regarding what Trump had to say about this, remember that New York was his town, and while U. S. politicians and others within government have not really questioned what happened on 9/11 — Donald Trump did.
One of his own engineers was the architect of the building. Here’s what he had to say, taken from one interview:
“It wasn’t architectural defect…The World Trade Center was always known as a very very strong building…Don’t forget that building took a bomb in the basement (1993). Now the basement is the most vulnerable place because that’s your foundation, and it withstood that…I got to see that area, about three or four days after it too place because one of my structural engineers actually took me for a tour, because he did the building and I said “I can’t believe it.” The building was standing solid and half of the columns were blown out…. So, this was an unbelievably powerful building.”
After talking about the structure of the building, and the way it was built with the steel on the outside (first building ever to do so for structural purposes …), and how it’s not possible for a plane to
destroy that, he went on to say: “How could a plane, even a 767 or a 747 or whatever it might have been, how could it possibly go through the steel? I happen to think they had not only a plane but they had bombs that exploded almost
simultaneously because I just can’t imagine anything being able to go through that wall….I just think that there was a plane with more than just fuel. Obviously they were very big planes, they were going very rapidly…. You’re talking about taking out steel, the heaviest caliber steel that was used on the building. These buildings were rock solid.”
Trump also stated the fact that the US government had knowledge before the attack, before it happened, and they still did not stop it. He also mentioned that he saw a big hole in some of the steel beams, hinting to explosions.
No matter what the truth is—and either we will never know or we will know it is other than what we have been told, but it will never be admitted—it doesn’t take anything away from the amazing first responders and others who didn’t hesitate to help their neighbors, strangers, to risk their own lives and do everything they could, without counting the time, the effort, the cost or even the safety to themselves, to do what they could. And it doesn’t change the cost in
lives or the sorrow that lingers yet.
The part of this whole thing that we will never be able to understand or accept is this: We know the story is not as we were told, but we want to know why we were lied to. What will happen to our country if we find out some horrible truth?
