School, which houses the Leadership and Law Preparatory Academy, a
college preparatory academy to offer a four-year program in legal
studies presented the first annual “Meet and Greet Your Clark County
District Court Judges” last Saturday, August 17.
Students from Canyon Springs High School were presented with the
opportunity to participate in the “Shadow a Judge for a Day Program.”
This program give students the opportunity to spend a day with a judge
and develop a better understanding of how courtrooms function.
Two leaders in our community, Clark County District Attorney Steve
Wolfson and Clark County Public Defender Phil Kohn moderated the
Moderators gave each of the judges the opportunity to introduce
themselves and share their background.
Among some of the judges with the Eighth Judicial District Court
Criminal and Civil Division were: Elissa Cadish, Abbi Silver, Timothy
Williams, Michael Villani, Valerie Adair, Susan Johnson, Stefany Miley
and Ron Israel.
Also present were judges with the Family Division: Kenneth Pollock,
Jennifer Elliott, Bill Henderson, Vincent Ochoa, Bill Potter and Frank
Clark County District Court Judges James Bixler and Gloria O’Malley;
attorneys Paul Padda, Craig Mueller, and Richard Scotti; Nevada
Judicial Watch and Andre Lagomarsino sponsored the event.
