Vacations are usually great ways to unwind and get away from the everyday pressures of life and I found a one-of-a-kind tour that appeals to your search for adventure. You have to travel to Kilpisjärvi, Finland but it is worth the trip!
Imagine sleeping under the Northern Lights in a Snowmobile towed a glass-roofed “Aurora Bubble” mobile hotel room. I bet you never heard of that vacation before! Sleeping in an “Aurora Bubble” with the Snowmobile beside you in the wilderness, what are they going to think of next? I would want to be sure there was a 2-way radio or method of communication with the nearest village.
Their couple’s-only tour is scheduled during the Aurora Viewing this winter (December, 2016-March, 2017). Thousands of travelers usually see the “Aurora Borealis” Northern Lights but not this way in an “Aurora Bubble” and snowmobile.
The tour guides lectures provide explanations about the Northern Lights and the all new “Aurora Bubble” sled concept and later the guests enter their bubble filled with bean bags, reindeer skins and a sleeping kit.
The sled is mounted on the back of a snowmobile and towed deep into the Arctic night. With a thermostat-controlled heating system keeping the bubble warm, guests are left to watch the Arctic night sky in comfort and isolation. The “Aurora Bubble” may be called a room with a view.
The “Aurora Bubbles” are the creation of Jouko and Mari Lappalainen offering a 365 degree view of the Aurora when the sled parks in areas completely free from light. www.offthemaptravel.co.uk
Health Note: If you are planning any 2-3-or more day’s tour into the wilderness anywhere in the world get your doctor’s approval first. Some tours while they sound romantic and adventurous may be too strenuous for your health concerns. Whatever tour you choose, be sure to research references about the company, weather conditions and available medical assistance.
I had the opportunity to experience viewing the “Aurora Borealis” Northern Lights in Fairbanks, Alaska, a closer trip from the United States, more comfortable and warmer. It is a thrill seeing nature’s wonders and very special phenomena like the “Aurora” Northern Lights. I love to try the off-the-beaten-path cultural tours where you meet the people and learn their ancient customs. These are not the typical tours, today they call them “Experiential” experience tours where you really get to see and experience more than just the attractions.
