Recognized for his musical productions and singing talents, Bill Fayne featured music from some of the best of the “Golden Age of Movies.”
Bill presented his show with the flare of a man who has been a part of show business for many years.
The “Golden Age of Movies” recreates some of the most memorable singing and dancing megahits.
These songs’ popularity has continued throughout the years. Some of the classic movies included “The Wizard of Oz,” “Singing in the Rain,” “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” “Annie Get Your Gun,” “Easter Parade” and “Silk Stockings.”
Those lavish big budget musical productions brought the world of fantasy to moviegoers during the ‘50s.
In the stories, the star’s dreams came true. Everything was possible and the scripts made sure their problems were solved.
This nostalgic show looks back at the happy movies and the talented stars of those times.
First Bill Fayne’s show began with a video of some of the most exciting moments in the movies. The audience saw the production numbers as they were choreographed in the films.
Then Bill sang while accompanying himself on the piano as George DeMott, Anne Martinez, Tara Palsha, James Allen and Gret Menzes recreated the musical numbers on the Suncoast Hotel’s stage.
The cast performed their high-energy numbers with skill and the sophistication of being able to impersonate the greats.
Even without sets, the choreography and songs held the scenes together.
“Golden Age” featured the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Lerner & Lowe and will remember song and dance favorites spanning 40 years of the movie musical greats including Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Cyd Charise, Debbie Reynolds, Judy Garland, Lena Horne and Ethel Merman.
