Back in the early ‘80s, the LAPD had several complaints against the use of a chokehold called the “Bar-Arm chokehold.” For a while, the LAPD had suspended the use of this chokehold by police officers, at least until it could be evaluated or maybe an alternative could be developed. Thus the “lateral Vascular Neck Restraint” came to be and has been in use ever since with remarkable success, at least until just recently, whereby a[…]
I am quite surprised that the LVMPD police administration would allow the Review-Journal to publish such a spread in their newspaper, with photos included, of this alleged distinguished employee that has risen so quickly through the ranks, from corrections officer, in the Clark County Jail, to sergeant, in the Narcotics interdiction unit, to sergeant in the Robbery/Homicide Bureau, and then eventually, after working so diligently, to becoming the Commander of the prestigious elite Special Weapons and Tactics unit. Does anyone see maybe a political appointment floating around?
The year 2010 was a very pivotal year; in a word, it was Metro’s best year for corruption and cover-ups. The Stanley Gibson Officer Involved Shooting, cover-up and spin; The Costco Officer Involved Shooting, cover-up and spin; and the series of Home Invasion Robberies, Sexual Assaults, lies, evidence mishandling, false arrests, prosecutorial misconduct, evidence tampering, and the culmination of many career-ending, manufactured, false incidents by the police administration, including my career. As with any[…]
In this final part in a series on the coerced (and unjustified) end of a policing career, I will point out what I believe to be obvious failures by the LVMPD and by the police union. More importantly than Metro administrators recommending ‘termination’ (based on a poor investigation and little evidence of misconduct) is the fact that they also keep playing favorites and completely ‘blow’ the concept of comparative discipline which could cost them in[…]
Sixty-five million dollars of taxpayer monies went toward a Police Radio System that never worked properly; yet it appears nobody wants to know why, at least not the people who are supposed to know why. Well, I am Mr. Nobody and I want to know where the $65 million of taxpayer money went for the phony Police Radio System. It is my money and I have a right to know where it went, and how[…]
There is much that the LVMPD has to be made accountable for in order to re-establish its Honor, Integrity, and Value. We are not just talking about minor department policy violations; we are talking about being complicit in major felony crimes such as Murder, Rape, Drug trafficking, Larceny, Extortion, Workmans Compensation Fraud, Embezzlement, False Arrest, Political Corruption, Election Fraud, Medical Fraud, Employment Fraud, Insurance Fraud, Narcotics Dog Fraud, Vehicle Maintenance Fraud, Accident Investigation Fraud, Minimum[…]
I learned last week about the end of yet another police officer’s career in Las Vegas. It didn’t take much analysis of the information that I was given to realize that this was a disgrace. Let me explain. The Sheriff’s Protective Association is a ‘social’ organization. They sponsor the annual Christmas Party, the SPA Picnic, and they used to sponsor an event at ‘Wet & Wild’ and I participated in all of these activities with[…]
