Sandy Zimmerman’s Academy Awards Celebrity Interviews: Jason Martinez (“Jersey Boys”-Paris) & Ashley Matthew (“Rock of Ages”-Rio). by Sandy Zimmerman (Photos during the taping by Rhett Nielson
SZ: “Everybody is usually excited during the Academy Awards Oscar Night, Las Vegas-Style Red Carpet, at the Palms Resort & Casino.”
Jason Martinez (“Jersey Boys”-Paris)
Jason Martinez, the tall handsome star of “Jersey Boys” (Paris) walked the Academy Award’s Red Carpet hoping to enjoy some of the activities before he had to appear in his own show at the Paris Hotel this evening.
SZ: “Who do you feel should win the best actor and best film?”
Jason: “Who do I really want to win? I would love to see Mark Ruffalo win the Oscar and even Stallone would be great for his supporting role in “Creed”.”
SZ: “With all of Stallone’s films, this would be his first Oscar except he did win director.”
Jason: “Then, of course, Leonardo di Caprio, he had been snubbed so many times, Leo is due for one. For me, it’s who is going to give the best acceptance speech. Leo would give a great acceptance speech! Ruffle would be very emotional. He’s a lovable guy. Kate Winslet is always a class act. It’s going to be fun any way you slice it, I do have my favorites.
SZ: “Kate was in the “Steve Jobs” film.”
Jason: “Yes, she was fabulous in the film, so subtle, everything she did was so perfect. Such a great movie, I really hope she wins.”
Ashley Matthew-(“Rock of Ages”-Rio)
SZ: “Welcome to Ashley Matthew (“Rock of Ages”-Rio), you have just joined “Rock of Ages”
Ashley: “There are other members of the cast starting this week and next so I’m not the new girl, we have lots of new faces.
SZ: “What role do you play?”
Ashley: “I play a character called waitress #1 and on occasion I get to play the lead Sherry.
SZ: “How long have you been singing?”
Ashley: “I’ve appeared singing, dancing and acting in musical theater acts ever since I was little.”
SZ: “Do you go to the movies?”
Ashley: “I do, not as much as I’d like to with my schedule. I’m a big movie fan. I’m rooting for the “Hair and Make-Up” nominee, for “Danish Girl” because I think they pulled out all of the stops in that one!”
SZ: “We usually are interested in the best actor, actress, film but rarely the “Hair and Make-Up” category.”
Ashley: “I’m different. Whoever wins I won’t be shocked or surprised.”
SZ: “There are so many great films this year, it is difficult to pick from them. The “Danish Girl” is about a man who likes to dress like a woman during the day.
