The jury system in our democracy is okay as long as the decision of the jurors goes along with our own likes and wishes; the election result is fine as long as it benefits one’s party or candidate’s choice.
The nation was divided when the jurors found OJ Simpson not guilty of the murder of his former wife Nicole and her friend, part time actor Ron Goldman. Many years later, Clark County District Court Judge Jackie Glass made him pay for that crime when she sentenced OJ for an unrelated crime to far more years behind bars than warranted. Many Nevada judges, defense attorneys and even prosecutors in the Silver State told the Las Vegas Tribune at the time they believed his crime did not amount to more than a gross misdemeanor, punishable by probation.
The election that just took place last week, making New York real estate magnate and businessman Donald Trump the first ever president in the United States that never held any political office before he became the elected president, and has also stirred socialists, communists, and Democrats, as well as anti-Trump Republican groups to get up in arms, complaining about the results of the election.
Not even twenty-four hours after the election of president-elect Trump, those unhappy socialists, communists, Democrats and anti-Trump Republicans, went on an attack against the results of the election that hours before they claimed “were not rigged.”
“Peaceful demonstrations” in several cities included burning cars, breaking windows, assaulting Trump’s fans or citizens who had exercised their constitutional right to vote for him, beating them up and vowing to “Kill Trump” before he is even sworn into office.
Long time Nevada retired senator, Harry Reid, issued a statement blaming Trump’s followers for those “Peaceful demonstrations” that have the nation scared and worried for their safety by saying, “I have personally been on the ballot in Nevada for 26 elections and I have never seen anything like the reaction to the election completed last Tuesday. The election of Donald Trump has emboldened the forces of hate and bigotry in America.” Of course Reid had “never seen anything like it” because for thirty-six years, the elections were geared toward his benefit, and a socialist Nevada didn’t need to protest and complain about the results of those rigged elections. The statement issued by former Nevada dictator Harry Reid continues, stating, ‘White nationalists, Vladimir Putin and ISIS are celebrating Donald Trump’s victory while innocent, law-abiding Americans are wracked with fear — especially African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Muslim Americans, LGBT Americans and Asian Americans. Watching white nationalists celebrate while innocent Americans cry tears of fear does not feel like America.” Such statements make the octogenarian former Nevada dictator appear senile because those “passively protesting” are the same groups that were against Trump fighting, defending, protecting and supporting Reid’s candidate, Hillary Clinton. Up to Tuesday, November 8, ISIS was protected by President Barrack Obama and his administration as well as Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Crime Family; how is it that now ‘White nationalists, Vladimir Putin and ISIS are celebrating Donald Trump’s victory?
“…while innocent, law-abiding Americans are wracked with fear — especially African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Muslim Americans, LGBT Americans and Asian Americans. Watching white nationalists celebrate while innocent Americans cry tears of fear do[es] not feel like America,” said Reid in his statement.
Nothing sounds more cynical, scary and anti-American than those words spilling out of Harry Reid’s mouth because they are nothing but more lies from the possibly senile and retired senator.
Anyone who believes that having open borders, allowing Muslims and Syrian refugees to come and go as they please is not seeing the best interests of the country and has to be crazy because no one who checks off “American” for their nationality of origin has ever been in danger living here.
How much more Senator Reid is planning to keep lying to the people of Nevada is unknown, but even as late as this week he has been misleading Nevada citizens with innuendos and his own mentally confused statements; it seems as if the fading sight in his right eye is “fastened” to his brains and he therefore keeps confusing Nevadans, and maybe embarrassing his own loyal followers, when in his statement he says: “I have heard more stories in the past 48 hours of Americans living in fear of their own government and their fellow Americans than I can remember hearing in five decades in politics. Hispanic Americans who fear their families will be torn apart, African Americans being heckled on the street, Muslim Americans afraid to wear a headscarf, gay and lesbian couples having slurs hurled at them and feeling afraid to walk down the street holding hands. American children waking up in the middle of the night crying, terrified that Trump will take their parents away.”
It is impossible that all these scary things can happen to Americans when for the last eight years Harry Reid’s own government has allowed all these behaviors to take place in his own country.
President-elect Donald Trump is still sixty days away from being sworn into office. Today, as this article is being written, president-elect Donald Trump has no power whatsoever to make any child feel “terrified that Trump will take their parents away.”
Five years prior to this last week’s election, gay people were not holding hands in public, but they did so nevertheless.
A person that has to use a Suffix or the honorific before or after ‘American’ means they are not American. Either they are American, or they are Hispanic, African, Muslim or any other national name with which they identify; and now Harry Reid has created one more confusing label for Americans to identify with as opposed to just being ‘American.’ Thanks to Sen. Reid, now citizens can opt for being LGBT, regardless of what country they may have come from.
Just last week, the editorial in the Las Vegas Tribune emphasized the importance of becoming “all” American, or not at all, by saying, “We need to stop adding additional words to the way we express we are American citizens; no more saying African-American, Spanish-American, Asian-American, and Mexican-American or using any other modifier to indicate that we are American citizens.
We all have to become Americans and leave any other nationality at our former home where it belongs, because that is the proper thing to do when adopting this country as our second home.”
But Harry Reid and the socialists, communists, and Democrats, as well as anti-Trump Republican groups, need to use such “formal” dividing lines as a way to divide the country into different parts; look at the signs at those rallies, debates, caucus, etc.; they even have the sexes divided with signs like: women for this, men for that; gays for this or transgenders for that; veterans for this, smokers for that; people with wooden legs for this or druggies for that.
The retired senator, if he is really going to retire, which Las Vegas Tribune doubts, keeps blaming president elect Donald Trump by saying in his statements, “We as a nation must find a way to move forward without consigning those who Trump has threatened to the shadows.
Their fear is entirely rational, because Donald Trump has talked openly about doing terrible things to them. Every news piece that breathlessly obsesses over inauguration preparations, compounds their fear by normalizing a man who has threatened to tear families apart, who has bragged about sexually assaulting women, and who has directed crowds of thousands to intimidate reporters and assault African-Americans. Their fear is legitimate and we must refuse to let it fall through the cracks between the fluff pieces.” Reid needs to stop the lies by insisting that the same people that he hated back in 1993 are now living in the shadow; if one has a job, some people have come on television admitting that he has held the same job for twenty-six years, but he is tired of “living in the shadows” and he has a bank account, a driver’s license, credit to buy a big $70,000 Dls. truck, etc., is not living in the shadows.
And of course Reid has to bring the predatory issue up, ignoring the fact that Bill Clinton is the number one predator of our modern times; Reid claims that Trump has bragged about sexually assaulting women and
has directed crowds of thousands to intimidate reporters, ignoring the fact that Bill Clinton had more than thirty women that have come forward to denounce him in that they have either been sexually assaulted, abused or have maintained an extramarital relationship with the former president, the former governor and the former attorney general of his state, Arkansas.
In the case of Donald Trump, there are many different aspects of behavior to consider; but while they are not excusable, they are small compared to Clinton’s behavior while in public office, and in a room right next to his wife and daughter. Not being on the ballot this time around is no excuse for ignoring the former president’s adultery and sexual misbehavior; and just because his wife desired to be president some day, making it a little easier for her to ignore the despicable behavior of her husband, it does not make the behavior any less immoral.
Intimidating reporters that do not follow the rules is no reason for the retiring senator to attack the elected president because he himself has intimidated reporters from the Las Vegas daily newspaper many times, and at least three of them have lost their jobs as a consequence.
Back to the OJ story: the decision of the jury in the OJ Simpson case is good as long as one agrees with the jury, but is not good if one believes that the former American football running back star, broadcaster and actor was guilty of the charges.
For years the elections have been measured by electoral votes regardless of the number of popular votes; not that the electoral votes have elected Donald Trump against the popular vote that socialists, communists, Democrats and anti-Trump Republicans want to change; after all, this newspaper has been advocating for the popular vote system and preaching about it for the last nineteen years.
The rules have to change to please socialists, communist Democrats and anti-Trump Republicans.
