When you include some of the greatest talent in Las Vegas and put them all together in one show, that’s Mondays Dark in the Joint Showroom at the Hard Rock Hotel!
Tonight host/singer Mark Shunock (Rock of Ages-Venetian) celebrated his second anniversary of Mondays Dark with another non-stop all-action show. Mark mixed his role as host and performer with his free-style dancing, singing and touches of humor.
The show offered something for everyone with a wide variety of entertainers from the Las Vegas Strip and even Hollywood, California.
A long-time favorite in Las Vegas, stand-up comedian, actor and television host Louie Anderson always knows what the audience wants to hear.
A stirring performance by a beautiful blonde singer, after finishing the song, sits behind a make-up table. The audience only sees then takes off gown, wig and surprises the audience is really a man.
I reviewed many of these entertainers at their own shows but this was different, all of them came together for charity. Each entertainer performed with enthusiasm and determination to make this night special.
Mark’s lineup of celebrities in the show were Louie Anderson, John Katsilometes and Robin Leach from Greenspun Media Group; Impressionist Gordie Brown; Travis Cloer from “Jersey Boys;” Zowie Bowie’s Chris Phillips; “Diva’s Las Vegas” diva Andrew Ryan; REO Speedwagon guitar legend Dave Amato; “Raiding the Rock Vault” vocalists: Starship’s Stephanie Calvert and Rough Cutt and Quiet Riot frontman Paul Shortino; Josh Strickland from “Vegas! The Show;” Rockie Brown of The Rockie Brown Band; Burlesque superstars Lou Lou D’vil and The Baron; vocalist, producer and co-director of “ALICE,” Anne Martinez; Walt Disney Animation Studio’s James Mulligan; stand-up comedian, actor and television host Louie Anderson; Vegas entertainers Chadwick Johnson and Michelle Johnson; Broadway performer Ruby Lewis; the cast of Human Nature: Andrew Tierney, Mike Tierney, Phil Burton and Toby Allen; and Cheryl Daro from “Rock of Ages.” The Mondays Dark band is lead by Kenny Davidsen, with vocalists Philip Drennen and Jassen Allen rounding out the cast.
The public is invited the third Monday of every month, January to November, for Mondays Dark at the Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel. Each month, a different Las Vegas-based nonprofit is selected and 100 percent of all ticket and silent auction proceeds stay with that organization. An average of $10,000 is raised each month. Mondays Dark runs 90-minutes of entertainment, song and a lot of laughs at Vinyl inside the Hard Rock.
Tickets are $20 for reserved seating and $50 for VIP reserved seating (VIP includes entry to an after party at Vinyl.) To purchase tickets, visit website: http://www.mondaysdark.com/. Mondays Dark is sponsored, in part, by: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino (including Vinyl Las Vegas and The Joint); LEO; Chapman Automotive Group; Greenspun Media Group; Gay.Vegas and Rock of Ages Las Vegas.
