THE MONTHLY LUNCH MEETING OF THE F.I.O.R.E.
On Thursday, Sept. 12, the monthly lunch meeting of the F.I.O.R.E.,
group, you know those ridiculous fun Italians who promote fun events,
will have a very special lady as its guest speaker, Heidi Harris . The
native Las Vegan , who has been a radio host for the past 15 years, is
considered by Talker’s Magazine to be one of the 100 Most Important
Radio Talk Show Hosts in America. Now, I personally would consider
that enough information for a reason to go and hear her. Harris
frequently appears on cable TV, confounding the left leaning pundits
with common sense and a fabulous smile. Heidi got her first job on a
microphone at 16, when she worked at a fast food drive-in window.
Prior to embarking on a radio career, she worked in a variety of
industries, including recruiting for various businesses, casino and
administrative jobs, and even a stint as a professional singer, which
has given her that “ real world” experiences she applies to her daily
A strong supporter of the military, Harris is an Honorary Commander
for the A-10 Division at Nellis Air Force Base , where they gave her
the call sign, “ Cougar .” She and her husband, Brian , have been
married for more than 10 years, and have a house full of rescued dogs.
You can hear her on weekdays on AM 790 KBET. The gathering takes place
at the New Italian American Club, 2333 E. Sahara Ave, at 11:30 a.m.
Lunch is $25.00 if you eat, and $29.95 if you don’t. Reservations are
a must by contacting: firstname.lastname@example.org or NSardelli@aol.com.
