Visiting the Courtyard by Marriott, in Escondido, at the Los Angeles Airport, was so pleasant and very different from the other hotels.
I have stayed at the luxury Marriott resorts and was surprised to find the Courtyard by Marriott. The Courtyard is a brand of hotels owned by Marriott International designed for business and leisure travelers.
Their friendly staff welcomed me and I learned about the quaint historic town of El Segundo.
Guests can eat in the Bistro at the Courtyard or choose from several restaurants just a few blocks away in El Segundo. They range from classic American grills, Mexican, Italian, and American fare with a flare.
There’s pub food, upscale French, seafood, tapas, California cuisine, gourmet pizza, Chinese, sandwiches, southwest Tex/Mex, Italian, burgers, salads, and even a microbrewery in nearby Manhattan Beach.
What a selection!
Courtyard full-service business center offers a unique feature with complimentary use of the computers as well as copies, fax & printing at no charge.
Take a walk around the hotel, spend time at the outdoor lobby near the pool, or meet the guests in the lobby and they offer a bar at night.
The TV lounge is in the lobby or you can sit at the round booths along the front wall called “pods”, each with individual TVs on one side.
You can always be sure when staying at any Marriott because their name means quality!
Since 1983, the Marriott added their affordable priced Courtyard Hotel with many of the same features of their higher priced hotels like large desks, couches, free broadband internet access and big breakfasts. Most have full-service restaurants and all have 24-hour mini-marts.
The mini-markets are great because I always need to buy something during my trips.
Guests can sleep on luxury bedding and thick mattresses with custom comforters. There’s also complimentary wired high-speed internet in the rooms and lobby.
In the guest rooms, the ergonomic chair helps bring more comfort while working at the large desk.
The new-style lobby concept includes separate pedestal stations for one-to-one guest check in and information instead of the usual counter.
The Courtyard offers three meeting rooms with 1,468 square feet of total meeting space for conferences or events. AV equipment is available for slide shows or video presentations.
