Sing along with “The Lips of an Angel” with a free concert by Hinder during Fremont Street Experience’s Rock of Vegas summer concert series on Saturday, June 8 at 9 p.m. at the 1st Street Stage. The legendary downtown Las Vegas entertainment venue will transform into summer’s alternative destination through Labor Day weekend with a free concert series that showcases a stellar lineup of bands that take music to the edge.
Hinder debuted on the rock scene in 2005 with their first album Extreme Behavior, which sold over three-million copies in the U.S. and featured the breakthrough single “Lips of an Angel” which hit #1 on the Billboard Pop Chart. The album also featured hits “Better Than Me” and “Get Stoned.”
The follow-up in 2008, Take it to the Limit, surpassed Gold status after debuting at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 with over 80,000 copies sold first week. Meanwhile, their third effort, American Nightmare, was released in 2010. Along the way, the band has shared the stage on national tours with Mˆtley Cr¸e, Nickelback, Papa Roach, Saving Abel and more. THE IMPROV AT HARRAH’S: JUNE 4 – JUNE 9
The world-famous Improv at Harrah’s Las Vegas is the longest-running comedy club on the Las Vegas Strip. The Improv’s ability to showcase young comedians, as well as bring in big names, has attributed to its longevity and success.
Each week, The Improv showcases three of the funniest and freshest faces in comedy, creating a show that is always unique and definitely funny. The comedians who will perform June 4 – June 9 are:
Ben Gleib: Ben Gleib is a stand-up comedian, actor and TV host, perhaps best known as a round table regular on the hit show “Chelsea Lately” on E!. Esquire named him one of “six comedians who could be comedy’s next big thing.” He is the voice of Marshall the Sloth in 20th Century Fox’s “Ice Age – Continental Drift.” Gleib also makes frequent appearances as a guest correspondent on CNN and on NPR’s “Patt Morrison’s Comedy Congress,” sharing his comedic take on politics. Gleib has also performed his stand-up on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” on CBS and on NBC’s “Last Call with Carson Daly” and “Last Comic Standing.”
Brant Von Hoffman: For over twenty-five years, Brant Von Hoffman has been a creative force in the entertainment industry not only as a comedian & actor but also as an amazing writer, author and producer. A veteran of over 15 films, Brant has co-stared in such comedy hits as “Guarding Tess,” “Rustler’s Rhapsody” and “Police Academy.” As a stand-up comedian he has appeared in countless comedy clubs, casinos and colleges all across the country. Called a “must-have manual for any man” by USA Today, Brant and his brother went on to co-author the best-selling coffee table book “The Von Hoffmann Brother’s Big Damn Book of Sheer Manliness”. Based on the critically acclaimed success of the book the Von Hoffman Brothers then went on to write, produce and host “American Hombres” for the History Channel.
Daryl Wright: Born in Washington D.C., Daryl Wright has performed around the country, moving from San Antonio, Texas to New York City and finally landing in Los Angeles. Wright worked his way up from performing at open mics to headlining at the world-famous Improv on Melrose Avenue. Wright’s struggles serve as the backbone of his character and his comedy. From freshman comic to headliner, Wright is on the fast-track to stardom.
Shows are at 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
