Our illustrious Senator, Majority Leader and Godfather of many of the
local politicians, Don Harry Reid, was on local television channels a
few days ago imitating Stevie Wonder with dark sunglasses and playing
the role of John Gotti (no offense to the memory of Mr. Gotti),
threatening those who came to Las Vegas to support Cliven Bundy in his
fight against the BLM evicting him from the land he and family have
worked for over a century.
I am not a mind-reader, but from the minute I learned that the feds
were doing what they were doing, I had the feeling that Dirty Harry
was in the middle of it and started investigating and going into
several online sites to see if I was right or wrong.
Well, guess what? I was not too wrong; in fact I was not wrong at all
and I was not surprised to learn a lot more stuff about Mr. “Clean
Face,” which I was expecting.
What really surprised me is why the people of Nevada are so blindsided
by this man and why the voters have allowed this little old man and
his minions to manipulate the system to benefit only them and their
families for such a long time.
There is no doubt that the people around him are very clever and that
they know how to work the system to their financial benefit.
The last of Harry’s minions’ manipulation was last week when they
tried to take the land that someone has worked for many years to
benefit the old man, his family and his friends.
No one ever knew that Harry Reid’s son, Rory, has partial ownership in
these lands; no one knew that Rory Reid represented the Chinese group
that wants to introduce the solar panel business to Nevada.
And those who knew about it were under the wrong impression that they
were looking at lands in the neighborhood of Laughlin, when in reality
they were looking at the Bunkerville area, and that was never
mentioned by anyone, covering up the involvement of the Harry Clan.
I believe that they never imagined that the land takeover was going to
cause the commotion that took place during last week’s eviction
Why would anyone wait twenty-one years to evict a person behind on his
payments — whatever the payments were for, mortgage, car payment, or
grazing? I’d like to see my bank allowing me to be — not twenty-one
years, not even twenty-one months, but twenty-one days — late with my
I realize that wealthy and privileged people have better benefits than
those of us who have to work for a living, Once, a few years ago, Ed
Torres and Wayne Newton bought the Aladdin Hotel. When they broke up
their partnership, Ed Torres stayed at the Aladdin for two more years
without paying the note.
Two years may be normal for wealthy people because most companies or
financial institutions like to kiss the bottoms of those who pretend
to be wealthy… but twenty-one years? Come on!
I have the feeling that time is running out for Harry Reid and his
clan; this time Harry is not getting his way. I once said that Reid
should get out of politics with the little credibility he has left
instead of leaving office in disgrace, but no one listens to me and
now he is working on his last three projects, the train to nowhere,
the Chinese connection, and electing the next governor of Nevada in
2016 when he announced that he is not running again but will try, only
try, to leave the state in the hands of the Democrats.
Harry Reid is forcing Lucy Flores into the Lt. Governor’s seat, so
that when RINO Governor Brian Sandoval steps down once again — as he
always does — in the second year of his second term to run for U.S.
Senator Harry Reid’s seat, the Lt. Governor (Flores) will take the
governor’s seat and then appoint a Democrat as Lt. Governor and all
the bases will be covered.
Unfortunately, the Republican Party in Nevada is becoming a
No-party-at-all-party because everyone in the party is too busy
partying and doesn’t have time to think about the community, the
people of Nevada and the Republican Party; that is why the Republican
Party — both in the state and in the country — is becoming a thing of
But, I’m still thinking that this year’s election is going to be very
decisive in the future of our state and in particular in the future of
Clark County residents.
From the Sheriff race to the judicial races and in between I have the
feeling that everyone is going to be surprised with the election
We cannot have people confusing the constituents with a name similar
to someone else more respected and with more integrity running for
office as a retaliation just because someone else may have done
something wrong to them or to their friends.
People who have been part of this community before any of these
fanatics even moved here should not be insulted when asked for a vote
of confidence when they don’t deserve that vote just because someone
else may have not pleased them once, may have disagreed with them once
or twice or just because they have a difference of opinion.
Running for an elected position should be taken very seriously and
should not be for personal vendettas or personal gains. The
constituents in this community deserve respect, transparency and
integrity from those they have elected to represent them in different
In my opinion, the biggest surprise is going to be in the judicial
race and those sitting judges who are puppets of campaign consultant
Dave Thomas who would hopefully be taken down by the popular vote.
We need honest and competent judges and not wimps with black robes; we
do not need judges who hire a campaign manager just because he or she
is afraid to upset one or another campaign manager.
We need judges that are able to respect the people appearing before
them and who don’t take for granted that everyone who appears in court
is guilty beyond a doubt.
Even if these people may be guilty of something, that does not
necessarily make them criminals. In fact, sometimes the behavior of
some judges makes them appear very unethical and their behavior can be
Attorneys who appear before a judge who has just presided over their
case and ruled in their favor, and then — right after the hearing or
the trial — walk out of the courthouse with that judge, not only make
the judge look bad, but also give the appearance of impropriety.
I know that the judges are elected mainly by the legal community and
few of the public ever know who is the good and capable judge and who
is not, and that is why when a person is elected judge the
relationship with the legal community should be looked at with a
Up to now many people appear in court and don’t even know the name of
the judge despite the fact that his or her name is displayed in big
letters before their eyes; but now people are getting more
knowledgeable about the judicial candidates and that is a good thing.
Hopefully this election we will elect candidates that will make us all
proud instead of voting in those puppet-like candidates that can and
will be controlled by someone else’s strings.
