The Hollywood Downtowner Inn is designed for their guest’s enjoyment as most of the rooms face the pool. It is refreshing to look out at the trees, flowers and greenery from the window or balcony. There are hide-a-ways to sit and relax.
As Shaila Mulji, the co-owner, explained, “Our guests feel at home in their own little island in the jungle of Los Angeles. In today’s world, many people live on shoestring budgets. Here you receive five star services at two star prices.
People from around the world come to our global village we call the earth. You never know who you will meet.
The Inn’s sign was built during the time the United States and the Russian’s were in a race to reach the moon. Our “Shooting Stars” design is a famous historic symbol and the Downtowner is included on the bus tours of Hollywood.
I really enjoyed staying in one of the apartments in their historic Renaissance building which was fully renovated this year. The apartment had one bedroom, living room and full kitchen. It was so convenient to have a television and telephone in both the bedroom and living rooms while one hand-held telephone could be carried to the bathroom.
Accommodations include two double beds, deluxe king bed and kitchenette rooms (microwave oven). All rooms have mini-refrigerators.
Guests receive complimentary WI-FI, local telephone calls and parking. Their Satellite television includes ESPN and HBO. Shaila says, “There are no surprises or extras. We have it all!”
Usually when hotels offer breakfast, it is just rolls and coffee but the Downtowner provides a complimentary all-you-can-eat full, breakfast consisting of bacon, eggs, meat, potatoes, waffles, pancakes, juices, cereals, toast, oatmeal, pastries and fresh fruit. Guests just walk a few steps to the House of Tacos Restaurant.
You can’t miss the historic Hollywood Downtowner Inn’s sign. The Inn is located at 5601 Hollywood Boulevard, in Hollywood, California. www.hollywooddowntowner.com
