Lights” — a growing Vegas tradition — a drive-through light-displays
of various winter holiday configurations from dinosaurs to draidels,
angels to butterflies and some commercial themes like McDonald’s, NV Power, casinos and Goodwill at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It officially
opened by a child’s pushing a “magic button.” Open through January 5,
2014 featuring 1 million lights along a 2-mile racetrack.
A living nativity scene has been added for select evenings this year.
The Avenue of Trees pays tribute to charities Glittering Lights
supports. Many companies and corporations have their branding logos
prominently displayed (which was an element to adjust to).
The tour by trolley is about 15 minutes. Wearing a jacket is advised
as it is colder at this location. The entrance is off Gate F.
Holiday jingles jangle everywhere. Children ooohed at cute creatures —
clearly enjoying the lights.
Glittering Lights is open Sundays through Thursdays 5:30 p.m. to 9
p.m. Fridays, Saturdays 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Admission $15 per vehicle on Sundays through Thursdays, $20 on
