Cambria’s coastal setting brings artists and photographers to capture its beauty. Located halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the locals still practice those early traditional values.
Robin’s Handcrafted Global Cuisine fashions their food after the same idea. Shanny Covey, the owner, explained, “We take the time and energy to craft our food fresh. Everything on the menu is 99.99 percent prepared from scratch.
All of our pork, chicken and beef are as natural as possible. We buy from organic and sustainable farms that do not inject their stock with antibiotics.”
Shanny draws her inspiration from world cuisines. Born in Singapore, Shanny’s menu offers international dishes. There are selections from Morocco, Mexico, India, Thailand as well as the United States and other countries.
Her selections are enticing. Shanny described the ways her cuisine is different. “We like to make traditional dishes with a twist. It is Shanny’s twist.”
Shanny designed her cuisine around her passion for wholesome and fresh food in a seaside setting.
The eclectic menu surprises guests with a range of selections from Tandoori chicken, to St. Louis-style ribs, Mac n’ Cheese, crispy Vietnamese spring rolls and more.
The emphasis is on healthy food from the farm-to-the-table.
Bloomsdale spinach, the standard for garden-fresh flavored spinach, is one of the ingredients in her wild mushroom lasagna.
The Bloomsdale spinach salad includes strawberries, candied pecans, red onions and blue cheese with agave balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
The pork rib chop, flatiron steak and chicken are all-natural entries.If you wish to taste a few of the small dishes, choose the international sampler with three different international salads from the deli case prepared daily.
Robin’s features the largest choice of vegetarian dishes on the West Coast. They also serve vegan and gluten-free dishes. Guests can let their server know whether they have any specific dietary preferences.
Guests dine on Prix Fixe wine (or Sake and beer) dinners on the second Friday of each month except January.
Robin’s Restaurant has a deli, main dining room, enclosed terrace and private garden. They arrange small parties, rehearsal dinners and events for up to 90 people.
Originally, Frank Souza supervised the Hearst Castle’s construction in the thirties and made his home in the building that later became Robin’s Restaurant.
