I am not totally sure, but I am almost quasi-semi-positively sure, in an uncertain manner, that it was President Harry Truman who, on September 1, 1945, succinctly said: “Political Correctness is a doctrine, recently fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and promoted by a sick mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of sh*t by the clean end!”
With that in mind, the members of the F.I.O.R.E. (Fun Italians Organizing Ridiculous Events) decided to have a “Politically Incorrect” Halloween Party and no one was offended or needed a safe space.
The thirteen-year-old group of friends was able to successfully pull off this happy event. They came dressed in all kinds of outfits. But it was not their holiday garb that assured the great time had by all, it was the great spirit of camaraderie and the strong friendship that binds this group together.
Jovial, four scores Maxine Gaines, normally a very classy, charming and personable lady, came dressed as a Part Time Pole Dancer and Full Time Street Walker. Professor Stephen Braude showed up as a rejected Porn Star. Len Indelicato was Hugh Hefner, not to be confused with Huge Heifer. Nelson Sardelli was a Californian Pregnant Transgender Hassidic Pro-Gun Catholic Priest from Utah. He may have deeply offended Corrupt Politicians, Buddhists, Muslims, Millennials, Vegetarians, Hinduists, Feminists, Atheists, Native Americans and other groups for being left out of the title. Sorry. Their day in the sun will come.
In keeping up with the group’s tradition, all the ladies were given a long stem rose and a Halloween bag of chocolate. This time even the men got chocolate. Live music was provided by Emmy award-winner Gary Anderson and his trio.
Next scheduled meeting will be on Thursday, November 9th, 2017 at 11:30 a.m., at their official headquarters, the iconic Italian American Club, located on 2333 East Sahara Avenue.
