Prescription drugs are an important subject today especially when they pertain to children. Kevin Miller, international award winning writer/producer, interviewed experts in several fields for his film “Generation RX”.
Kevin explains, “Drug manufacturers are aware of the unpublished side effects but hide the information. In “Generation RX”, 42 people spoke as one with chilling tales from the families who faced the aftermath of the results of stimulants for ADHD and anti-psychotic drugs used to treat Bipolar Disorders.
The FDA knew the truth back in 1984-1986 when their own studies of Prozac indicated suicidal tendencies and violent reactions. I produced “Generation RX”, in 2008, and these drugs were still a growing problem.
When children squirmed around in their seats, acted a little bit unruly or did not conform, they were placed on Riddlin. Tens of millions of Children across the United States as young as two years old were placed on these stimulant and anti-psychotic drugs routinely.
I do want these drugs available but my main goal in producing the film was to highlight all of the information, the science, the conflict of interest in medicine, and the government turning away from the real science.
People need a choice. After seeing “RX”, if they still want to put their children on one of these drugs it is a free country.
Doctors should find out what is really wrong with the child. When you see a doctor you are in and out in seven minutes leaving with one, two or five prescriptions.
This is a labor of love for me. I was driven by real people, brave Americans standing before their government testifying at the Food and Drug Administration about the dangers and horrors they had to confront because of Prozac and other drugs like that.
We moved away from personalized treatment and a holistic view of the person’s well being and stresses at work, their diet, and use a prescription pad more than inquisitiveness to find out what is really going on.”
Kevin’s film offers a surprising look at the conflict between the drug companies and the over use of stimulants and anti-psychotic drugs. The public should ask for more information and look on the internet for further study.
You can speak to your family doctor or other doctor to discuss these drugs.
