The public began standing at the railing to watch the celebrities walk the red carpet. The Academy Awards are always an exciting event. In Las Vegas, the Palms Hotel and Casino host the event in conjunction with the main ceremonies in Los Angeles.
The nominated films, actresses and actors were an exciting mix.
I began interviewing the four dancers from the Fantasy show (Luxor).
The ladies’ chose American Hustle for Best Film and Leonardo Di Caprio for best actor.
Instead of the usual choices for awards, one rooted for “Despicable Me 2” as Best Animated Feature Film.
They agreed, “There are a lot of great movies and amazing actors this year. We are excited to see who wins.”
Following the interviews, the celebrities entered the private elevator to the VIP/Press party where they attended the televised Oscar ceremony.
Fantasy recently celebrated its 14th birthday and is one of the most popular adult shows in Las Vegas.
With 15 sensuous numbers, Fantasy has much more than most of the other shows.
The women agreed, “We have many fun numbers. There is something for everyone from James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World to Alicia Keyes and more.”
An original take on pole dancing, five dancers perform choreographed numbers on top of the poles. High-energy dancing and scanty costumes add to the mood.
Each number is different with exciting dancing styles and tempos.
The name Fantasy is the best way to describe the show. Your imagination runs wild.
The lead singer Jaime Lyuch and comedian Sean E. Cooper add to the show.
Fantasy recently celebrated 14 successful years at the Luxor. They won many awards including “Best Showgirls” in the Las Vegas Review Journal 2012 Best of Las Vegas poll.
Fantasy appears seven nights a week at 10:30 p.m. Must be 18 years of age or older to attend. There are two show packages, two-shows-for-the-price-of-one or show-and-dinner.
In addition to Fantasy, the Luxor Hotel offers several other shows: MAGICjam, JABBAWOCKEEZ and Carrot Top. The Luxor Hotel, at 3900 Las Vegas Boulevard South, near Tropicana Boulevard. www.luxor.com
