The 19th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified just to appease American women. The 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution, ratified on August 18, 1920, granted all American women the right to vote, and with that, appeased all women’s voices. But they never expected that we women would have a voice and speak so loudly.
Before I go into detail in this column let me be clear that at this point none of the Republican candidates are in my deepest thoughts. I have the right to change my mind in the near future, but at this point none of them are worthy of my vote. In my most humble opinion the Republican debate of February 6, 2016 was nothing but a mockery and an insult to our intelligence.
I have no idea why Martha Radditz was assigned to be moderator of nothing else but a Republican debate when we still remember that Barack Obama was a guest at her wedding to Jilius Genachowoski in 1991. Even though she is now separated, we believe that the connection is still there and she was not supposed to be the moderator of a Republican debate. I just got to the conclusion that we are living in a macho country, where there is no respect for women, whatsoever.
One woman, Carly Fiorina, just one woman, was a Republican candidate for the presidency and she was not even invited to the debate.
That was not the only nonsense; I waited one hour and four minutes for the supposed moderators to ask one question of Dr. Ben Carson. Total lack of respect for a man who has received much recognition for performing and mastering ground-breaking surgical procedures, giving children hope for a chance at a healthy and normal life. All of these macho men candidates have a woman behind them, for good or ill.
Take, for example, Marco Rubio, who has a woman behind him in his office, who contacted the FBI claiming that our publisher, Rolando Larraz, has threatened his life. He contacted the FBI in Las Vegas.
When the FBI checked all emails between the Senator’s office personnel and Mr. Larraz, there was no threat whatsoever. But Mr. Marco Rubio never had the integrity to apologize to Mr. Larraz for a mistake from his employees.
Can you imagine if this little man (between him and Mexican President Pena Nieto, we don’t know who might be shorter) won the presidency? He is going to allow the women in his cabinet to do whatever they wish, and against whomever they want. Now, in the final analysis, all candidates are going to do this and that to combat ISIS.
Once upon a time there was an invasion of Cuba, but the American government made it public (during President Kennedy) when and how the invasion was to take place and the Cuban government was alerted ahead of time. The invasion was a fiasco; hundreds of men were killed and thousands of others were jailed. And thousands of us are still here after 57 years. If any of them, however, who does become president, knows how to combat ISIS, I hope he can keep his mouth shut and keep that information confined to the expertise of the ARMY officials when they offer advice.
In conclusion, I realized that this was a debate between only four people, and the only woman candidate was missing in action thanks to ABC-Channel 13 Las Vegas.
