The legendary musicians of America’s heyday return to the historic Riviera Hotel & Casino on the famed Las Vegas Strip with the premieres of Forever Doo Wop and Forever Motor City. Produced by Red Mercury Entertainment and featuring a collection of hit songs ranging from The Temptations to Stevie Wonder to the Supremes and the Marvellettes, Forever Doo Wop and Forever Motor City premiered recently in the 170-seat Le Bistro Lounge inside the Riviera.
Featuring an all-star, eight-person ensemble of lead singers from some of America’s most influential musical groups such as Drifters, Platters, The Coasters, and Marvelettes, Forever Doo Wop takes audiences on an unforgettable journey the exciting history of Doo Wop music. Paying homage to one of America’s most persuasive art forms, Forever Doo Wop is comprised of a series of vignettes and mini-concerts, spanning all genres of Doo Wop, with a DJ just like the days in Dick Clark’s American Bandstand.
There’s lots of dancing, a trivia contest, and the songs performed throughout the show are true American classics, including: “In the Still of the Night,” “Earth Angel,” “My Prayer,” “Da Doo Ron Ron,” “Maybe,” “Duke of Earl,” “Under the Boardwalk,” “Why Do Fools Fall in Love,” and many more Doo Wop hits.
Directed by Broadway veteran Gary Kupper and featuring a cast of brilliant entertainers and former members of legendary Motown musical groups including The Spinners, The Main Ingredient and The Marvelettes, Forever Motor City offers a non-stop, high-energy trip down memory lane.
The iconic Motown sound, featuring the hit songs America grew up on, is recreated down to the slightest vocal and musical nuance. Sing, dance and celebrate songs by such American icons as Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, The Four Tops, and the rest of the renowned Motown roster.
Motown songs performed by the stellar cast include: “For Once in My Life,” “My Girl,” “Sugar Pie Honey Bunch,” “I Heard It Through The Grapevine,” “Pride and Joy,” and “Stop In The Name of Love,” along with many others.
Cast credits include Early Clover, who performed for 25 years as the lead singer of Cornell Gunter’s Coasters, Grammy Award-winning singer Jerome Jackson, Tonja Foster, Serena Henry, Terrence D. Forsythe, Gwendolyn Moore Forsythe, Willie Greene, Jr.

JEFF “BIG DADDY” WAYNE COMING TO THE RIVIERA COMEDY CLUB
If you are one of those millions of radio listeners who follow the “comedy channels on, Sirius/EM, Slacker, Pandora’s Box, or any of the other myriad of outlets broadcasting stand-up comedy, you have heard of Jeff “Big Daddy” Wayne. And, surprise, surprise, you can see him live, beginning Monday through Sunday (5/26-6/1, 2014), at the Comedy Club inside the Riviera Hotel & Casino. His six nationally released CDs, are constantly played on rotation.
Now some new laughs are on the way! A seasoned veteran of comedy clubs, concerts, luxury cruise ships, and television, Wayne is perhaps best known for his one-man show, “Big Daddy’s Barbeque,” (Grilling Food, Sex and Marriage), which he has performed in theaters throughout the world. “I am truly Internationally unknown, and I love it!” he said. Originally, Wayne followed the one-man show, “Defending the Caveman,” for three years on the Improv Comedy Circuit, with the special “Barbeque” show.
Jeff hopes to spark some Las Vegas interest for the truly rib-smoking laughter show, while playing the Riviera. Originally a native of Kentucky, he now makes his home in Los Angeles, which he calls, “That big plastic taco out west.”
From Los Angeles Wayne travels to engagements across the globe, and gets to, “strip for the TSA every week! I’m thinking about bringing a tip jar! It would be really nice not having to travel so much. I’m tired of stripping for the TSA, and only getting applause,” Wayne said. As for his experience as a comedian, “I’ve paid my dues. I just think I’ve been overbilled!”

JIMMY MULIDORE TO SPEAK IN CARSON CITY
Renowned entertainer Jimmy Mulidore will be the guest speaker in Carson City at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 16 at the historical commissions panel – C.I.M.A. – along with the honorable Clay “Tea” White, director of oral research at U.N.L.V. and Professor Ken Hanlon of U.N.L.V.
The subject will be “All That Jazz – Jimmy Mulidore’s experiences with JAZZ in Nevada.”
Jimmy will perform, demonstrate and speak about eras of Jazz. He will be a wealth of inside comments and views of the major entertainers of the past and present that he has been associated with.
Guests are coming from Utah, California , Oregon, Washington and Arizona. State Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Gibbons also is expected to attend.

MICHAEL GRIMM AT CLUB MADRID
Blues man Michael Grimm will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the Club Madrid at Sunset Station.

With his soulful voice, Mississippi-bred Michael Grimm charmed millions of viewers as a contestant and winner on season five of “America’s Got Talent,” parlaying his substantial singer-songwriter appeal into a million-dollar prize. Grimm began performing at the age of 12 and moved to Las Vegas at 21 to perform as lead guitarist in the “Legends in Concert” show. Following his win on “America’s Got Talent,” Grimm worked with Grammy-award winning producer Don Was on his eponymous debut album, which was released in 2011 to critical acclaim. Grimm released his album Gumbo was released in 2012 and followed with Moment in Time, which featured the single “Livin’ on Faith.” This is an all ages show; those under 21 must be accompanied by an adult.

CHRIS TUCKER TO PERFORM AT THE PEARL MAY 24
Comedian Chris Tucker returns to The Pearl inside Palms Casino Resort on May 24 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $45, plus any additional service fees.
Tucker is best known for his role of Detective James Carter in the “Rush Hour” film series. Starting his career as a stand up comedian, Tucker’s bold sense of humor landed him a spot on “Def Comedy Jam” where he frequently performed in the 1990s.
The buzz that Tucker garnered from his many appearances as a stand up helped open doors in the film industry. Following his film debut in 1994’s “House Party 3,” Tucker achieved ‘cult classic’ status as Smokey in the stoner comedy “Friday.” Tucker’s next big movie role was in the avant-garde film “The Fifth Element.”
Tucker’s film career reached soaring heights as the star of the “Rush Hour” blockbuster film series. The original, along with two sequels, grossed more than $500 million in the U.S. The success of the films enabled Tucker to negotiate a salary of $25 million, making him one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood for “Rush Hour 3.”
In 2013, Tucker enjoyed the buzz from a well-received performance opposite Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro in the David O. Russell directed film “Silver Linings Playbook.” Tucker continues to tour year after year performing stand-up comedy around the world.

The world-famous Improv at Harrah’s Las Vegas is the longest-running comedy club on the Las Vegas Strip. The Improv’s ability to showcase young comedians, as well as bring in big names, has attributed to its longevity and success. Each week, The Improv showcases three of the funniest and freshest faces in comedy, creating a show that is always unique and definitely funny.

KIVI ROGERS: Kivi Rogers was born to be in the spotlight. Rogers has made guest appearances on many television programs including “The West Wing,” “Dharma and Greg,” “Home Improvement” and “Everybody Loves Raymond.” He performed at the prestigious “HBO/US Comedy Arts Festival” in Aspen and on HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam.” Rogers has appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and performed at nearly 1,000 colleges nationwide.
FRANCES DILORINZO: This “mommy by day… comedian by night” found her funny bone as a freshman in college. After graduation, Frances Dilorinzo catapulted her career in comedy by working the L.A. club circuit. Her TV credits include appearances on “Last Comic Standing,” “Comics Unleashed,” Comedy Central, and more. Whether she’s headlining in Las Vegas or entertaining troops on USO tours around the world, Dilorinzo will make you laugh out loud.
