I believe that family is family; right or wrong, family is family, and nothing and no one can change that and like Mike Corleone in the movie The Godfather told his brother Fredo, “Don’t ever take sides with anyone against the family again ever” and that, in the old days, was like a biblical admonition.
Today, people’s loyalty goes as far as their nose goes, and it is a normal behavior to forget about friends, people you work with for some length of time, people that they have shared a table with at lunch time and even some time have sat at each other’s own table at dinner time.
Once I had a so-called friend that invited me to dinner and I answered that I have lunch with a lot of people, but I only have dinner with my friends and family; he was so slow that he was not able to realize that I just told him that he was not my friend.
Perhaps some of you may ask why I am saying stuff like that and it is because as much as I like politics, the fact is that politics make me sick.
Well, not really; politics does not make me sick, people in politics make me sick because none can be trusted and none can be believed.
That is why I did not look surprised when I read that Congressman Joe Heck and Congressman Crescent Hardy have distanced themselves from Donald Trump since the mainstream media came out with that 2005 illegal tape of Donald Trump talking in private with NBC’s Billy Bush and recorded without his knowledge or authorization.
Many others across the country have done the same and maybe some have been patronizing him since he became the Republican nominee for president.
That same Friday, just an hour before that tape was “accidentally” leaked to hurt Donald Trump, I saw a commercial of Dr. Heck walking next to an alleged reporter asking something about Donald Trump and the good Congressman, talking tough, responded to the reporter, “why wouldn’t I.”
What bothered me the most is how naïve the American voters are when they do not want to realize that the 11-year-old Donald Trump tape was abruptly released because the WikiLeak release of Hillary Clinton’s paid speeches to Wall Street members were out and they needed to divert the voters’ attention from that more important issue.
These emails will show clearly that Hillary Clinton is a greedy, lying, cold-blooded, corrupted person that will do and say anything to be the president of the United States of America.
Perhaps these emails will distinctively show how Hillary Clinton talks and acts one way with the rich and famous like her, acts and talks another way with the regular blue-collar voters, and talks and acts yet another way with the minority groups, making her a chameleon.
Twenty-four hours later when Joe Heck thought that Donald Trump’s political career might be over, he immediately distanced himself from the candidate that up to that moment, in response to a question, replied “why wouldn’t I” support Donald Trump.
Little did Joe Heck know that Donald Trump is a survivor, he is a winner and a man that has succeeded in life in everything he has done; maybe I don’t know Donald Trump as well as Congressman Heck may know him, but it never crossed my mind to turn on him.
I don’t need to take pictures with Donald Trump or have lunch with him and several other people to know that he is the only one that can save our country; all I need to do is spread the word and tell everyone that wants to listen to me that we need to vote and elect Donald Trump in the November 8th election.
While Joe Heck, Cresent Hardy, Nevada RINO Governor Brian Sandoval and many other political names were hiding, running away from the fact that they were supporting Donald Trump the same Friday that the tape was “accidentally’ released and they were now betraying the Republican Party and the little friendship or association they may have had with Donald Trump, I was proud that the Las Vegas Tribune was endorsing Donald Trump.
On Sunday afternoon the newspaper made public our endorsement of Donald Trump, our first political endorsement in ten years and earning the honor and the distinction of becoming the first and only newspaper in the nation endorsing Donald Trump.
My name is Rolando Larraz, and as always, I approved this column.
