I love a restaurant with atmosphere as it enhances the dining experience. You don’t have to travel to different countries to find a Rainforest, just walk into the Rainforest Café’s dining room and you are in a Las Vegas Rainforest!
We sat at a large booth and suddenly the animated animals around the walls seemed to wake-up and come-alive, the gorillas moved about Gorilla Mountain, the elephants were playful while the exotic tropical birds flapped their wings seemingly ready for flight. These Disney-style special effects continued throughout the 2 large dining rooms and retail store. This must surprise guests if they don’t expect it.
I feel the Rainforest Café has the “Most Unique Theme in Las Vegas”!
You have to take a tour walking around the dining rooms to see all of the animals and watch the Star Scape continually change colors as well as other animations.
Robert Birrell, General Manager of the Rainforest Café, explained, “Every 20 minutes the show begins, the animals make sounds, talk to each other and move. Things happen. There is an amazing thunder and lightning storm show, children and adults always enjoy a great atmosphere for them to come here, watch and dine.
Its dinner and a show! We offer two menus our Rainforest Special Themed Menu and the traditional favorite’s signature menu.
All of the animals came with us improved when we moved to our new location adjacent to the Planet Hollywood Resort and we are excited to be here.
We always give the guests a good time with our animals within the rainforest. There are educational tours with discussions about rainforests and the animals that live in the rainforest which makes an amazing experience for everyone.”
The original Rainforest Café, created by Steven Schussler opened in the MGM Grand Hotel and has been successful for many years. Currently Landry’s bought the rights to the theme and moved the café adjacent to the Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile Shopping Center, 3717 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Suite #275 & #330, the corner of Harmon and Las Vegas Boulevard.
