On May 9th of 2017, the nation came to a complete stop: no more news, and nothing new happened since that sad day when President Donald Trump had the audacity to fire the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. How dare he?!!
Since 2016, the Democrats have been asking for the FBI Director’s resignation, and no one — neither President Obama nor President Donald Trump — listened to them. James Comey maintained his position as the ‘prima donna’ of the 2016 election, playing games with both the Trump campaign and the Clinton Clan, despite the fact that Comey’s brother, Peter, is an attorney in a law firm that represents the Clintons.
Then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, accused the FBI director of breaking the Hatch Act, a federal law, by publicly disclosing new information about the Clinton investigation 11 days ahead of the presidential election.
Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tennessee, echoed concerns similar to Reid’s and called for Comey to resign his FBI post. Cohen reiterated that call in an opinion column published in The Hill (Nov. 3, 2016).
Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-New York, told Bloomberg News that he had lost confidence in Comey for his handling of Clinton’s email investigation. “I do not have confidence in him any longer,” Schumer said at the time. “To restore my faith, I am going to have to sit down and talk to him and get an explanation for why he did this.”
After Clinton lost to Trump, Democrats blasted Comey after a briefing on the agency’s investigation into Russia’s interference in the election. Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Georgia, stated: “My confidence in the FBI director’s ability to lead this agency has been shaken.” Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Los Angeles, put it more bluntly: “The FBI director has no credibility.”
On Nov. 7, 2016, Newsweek columnist Kurt Eichenwald didn’t just call for the FBI director’s firing — he said Comey was unfit for public service: “James Comey should not simply be fired as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He must be barred forever from any form of public service.”
Las Vegas Tribune had on several occasions written that FBI Director James Comey should have been fired since day one, after President Trump was sworn in. In fact, we have extended our opinion to the Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, (whom we believe President Trump should not trust).
Simply because the Speaker of the House is friends with Vice President Mike Pence should not be a reason to keep Ryan so close to the administration.
We are going to keep repeating it until we all teach it to all Democrats, Socialists, members of the mainstream media and anti-Trump Republicans. Get over it and accept the fact that the American people elected this president. It’s time to accept it for the reality it is.
President Donald Trump is acting within his rights and within his authority as the president of the United States to fire the FBI Director. Even James Comey himself said so on several occasions — before and after he was fired.
It is uncommon to see what is happening in this nation since Donald Trump has become the president. It seems like everything he says and does creates controversy and becomes an excuse for his ‘enemies’ to attack him.
The same Democrats that were against James Comey for the last year are now defending him and advocating for him. Are these people out of their minds?! Are they so narrow-minded that they do not realize how stupid they are acting and how childish they are behaving?
The president has held the power to appoint and dismiss the director of the FBI at his discretion since 1968: The current nomination and confirmation process for the FBI director was created by an amendment to the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968. The amendment established that the position of FBI director was to be nominated by the president and confirmed by the Senate.
So, what seems to be the problem with the Democrats and the anti-Trump Republicans? They cannot accept the fact that the country is going to work without them. The country is going to turn to social media and ignore the old-fashioned, narrow-minded mainstream media that has been brainwashing the nation for the last 200 years.
There has been nothing but the firing of the FBI Director on any TV channels or radio station. The only reason that newspapers are not following the same pattern is because they have too many pages to fill; nevertheless, most editorials, commentaries and viewpoints are on the same topic.
Once again: Democrats, Socialists, the mainstream media and the anti-Trump Republicans need to get over it, go home, and enjoy all they took from the American people.
