I attended the Chronic Tacos media dinner in the Palms Resort Food Court.
I asked brother and sister Jonathan and Jennifer Lewis, Chronic Tacos Mexican Grill Franchise owners, “How is Chronic Tacos different from all of the others?”
Jonathan explained, “When you go into Chipolte, do you feel like you are eating authentic Mexican food? No, it is Chipolte food, exactly. Ours is authentic, fresh, third-generation California-style Mexican recipes. Taste the food, you’ll see.”
Jennifer stressed, “Our motto, ‘we cook less more often’. All of the food in the line is consistently freshly prepared daily. Every time the food gets low, we call the cook who prepares the meals all the time. They are really great, the cooks almost have a green thumb for cooking. They even marinate the meats overnight making sure everything is cooked fresh.”
Jonathan was enthusiastic, “Our team guides the customers through the process asking the customers, ‘How hungry are you?’ We suggest different food combinations. It’s exciting, I think people are curious and like the energy here, this is a fun experience.”
I was watching how quickly the girls prepared the different dishes, some burritos were very large with a lot of food packed inside!
I enjoyed the oh-so-tender slow-cooked pork Carnitas, cooking for three hours really made the difference. The spices give a zing to their Al Pastor spicy Adobe pork while the bits of pineapple and onions added to the flavor mix.
Do you want a Burrito, Taco, Carne Asada, Polo Asado, Carnitas, Al Pastor, Bowl-Rito, Tostada-Bowl, Quesadilla or other authentic Mexican recipes? Their menu offers choices of over thirty different meals.
Once you choose your slow-cooked pork, grilled chicken or grilled steak entrée, it is immediately cooked, then everything is custom-made exactly the way you wish to build their meal.
Just walk a few steps and see all of the selections on the large counter, there’s guacamole, white lime or Spanish rice, refried/ black or pinto beans, lettuce, cheese, potato fries or mashed potatoes, bell peppers, onions, chips, two types of salsa, fajita veggies and too many more to mention. Usually you don’t find such a large variety of toppings.
Jennifer commented, “Our customers can also choose Vegan, Vegetarian and other options.”
Even if you follow a special health or reducing diet, Chronic Tacos has something for everyone. As Jonathan says, “Bring them on.”
Health conscious selections include Chronic Salads, Grilled fish Tacos and Bowl-Rito, a Burrito without the tortilla.
Order anything on the menu online for pickup.
Johnathan and Jennifer, Chronic Tacos twin owners, grew up in the largest franchise system in the world as their parents owned 10 McDonalds. At 27 years old, Johnathan says he is older, they wanted to branch out and take the next steps to start a new venture with Chronic Tacos.
