Dr. Shiroko Sokitch, M.D., practiced a blend of Chinese and Western medicine for more than 20 years.
Dr. Shiroko Sokitch explained, “Chinese medicine is based on the idea the body is made up of energy.
The energy travels through the body when it is not balanced there are medical problems.
I balance people’s energy and look at medicine as an adjunct for balancing a person.
It is good to use both eastern and western medicine.
This depends on my patient’s symptoms.
Chinese medicine offers different reasons for diseases than in western medicine.
Your brain chemistry could be out of balance.
Another organ out of balance, your heart does not just regulate your physical heart it is also called the emperor, responsible for all your emotions.
The entire body is seen as a kingdom with each organ satisfying their own roles for maintaining the kingdom.
In Western medicine the heart is studied to bring the blood supply into the body.
Chinese medicine balances how an organ works is different from how they work in eastern medicine.
I studied acupuncture in Seattle in ‘80s teachers from China.
Chinese medicine looks at medicine differently.
It is all about balance, not just physical but emotional and spiritual.
You put these two together and you have a bigger picture.
I have such a wide range of choices using both philosophies.
Each person is an individual.
That is the most important thing in terms of looking at people.
Research studies show each person is unique and we have to pay attention to their difference to factor when we take care of people.
If your heart is out of balance emotionally, spiritually or physically could cause illness.
There are many reasons for medical problems.
Emotions could impact the person.
When I learned about acupuncture, I followed up because there was a wider range of remedies I could provide for people.
I developed the Heart to Heart Medical Center.
I’m a person who wants to have an impact on every level of people’s lives.
I have so many choices.
Heart to Heart Medical Center is located in Novato and Santa Rosa, California.

Balance – Is a state of equilibrium when energy is flowing smoothly throughout your body. Balance does not mean that nothing is changing. In fact it is a sign of good health when your body adapts well to the changes. The symbol of Yin/Yang represents the flow of change and balance in life. www.hthmc.com
