Chef Melba’s Bistro prepares cuisine that has the same quality as our Las Vegas gourmet restaurants but they are located in the small village of Hermosa Beach, California.
I was dining with Ed and Terry Kushins, owners of Home Exchange, who suggested tasting a few small plates.
Our appetizer was Blazing Hen of the Woods Mushrooms combined with curly peppers and garlic herb Harrisa. Harissa is a Tunisian hot chili pepper paste. There were several types of mushrooms- King, Oyster, Seafood, Shitakes and Enokes Mushrooms with a little bit of truffles. Robust flavors, shallots, garlic, ltl bt crushed chilis to mk the bite to it and lime juice.
A salad is always different in each restaurant, their chopped salad included Garbanzo beans, Kalamata Olives tomatoes and Peppadew peppers.
The large natural U-10, 10 per pound, dry seared scallops.
Loup the Mer, whole roasted fish primitive old school eating with Chef Melba’s herbs.
I could not resist Chef Melba’s signature dark chocolate bag filled with passion fruit Mousse and fresh berries.
