This newspaper has at least one eye always open when it comes to noticing subtle little changes to our community and who comes into our community with ulterior motives. Just like Cheeba Chews, “it” or they hide in plain sight.
This newspaper staff has noticed that more brand new black government-owned Chevrolet Suburbans with government license plates have shown up on our streets and in our parking lots in increasingly larger numbers.
What is surprising is that there is no attempt to camouflage the identification of these vehicles since a small sign, 3 inches high by 12 inches long, displayed on the driver’s side and passenger side of the rear window, proudly proclaims, “DHS Government Vehicle.” Granted, it is subtly displayed behind the smoke-tinted glass and cannot be observed from any discernible distance, but you can see the sign from about seven to eight feet away quite clearly. The white government license plates on the front and rear of the vehicles are very apparent and adequately indicate that these vehicles are government and taxpayer-owned and operated for our safety (of a sort).
Along with these vehicles comes the feeling that the government, DHS identified, and the presumed DHS government employees who are operating these vehicles, are supported by our tax funds, and allegedly are providing for our safety and well-being, and are in support of our United States of America and our honored Constitution.
The uncanny feeling that arises about the actual purpose of the DHS (Department of Homeland Security) as opposed to the various purported purposes of DHS – which would allegedly be to fight terrorism and protect our nation, and possibly to even defend our Constitution (maybe) – is enough to make us ask “What is going on?” whenever we see one of those vehicles properly parked, along with and amongst several other civilian vehicles, in the parking lot of the Olive Garden restaurant at Decatur and Charleston Blvd.
The first thought that came to one of our reporters was that maybe it would not be so safe to enter this particular restaurant, as there might be some terrorist activity afoot inside, either openly or covertly. Who could possibly know?
Curiosity compelled our reporter to enter the restaurant and request a table next to a window where the DHS Government vehicle could be observed, along with who would re-enter the vehicle after concluding their official business inside the restaurant. Much to the surprise of this newspaper’s reporter, a white male adult, late 30’s, dressed in light-colored shorts and tennis shoes and accompanied by a white female adult, dressed in a tank top and peddle-pushers, were just walking along escorting two small children, about five and seven years of age, back to the Government-owned DHS vehicle parked in the parking lot. This was not an unusual occurrence in itself as this is how most families would conduct themselves when they head toward and re-enter their vehicle after having a family dinner out, ready to depart from a neighborhood restaurant and continue on their way.
Relief was experienced by our reporter in knowing that it was not at all likely that there was a terrorist threat being investigated by DHS at this local restaurant, and that it appeared to be just an innocent outing by a community family to have dinner and was not some diabolical terrorist threat that had just been thwarted and stopped.
Then the realization set in, especially in light of the sequester tax cuts, the funding-down of time-honored “entitlements” and “benefits,” and the revelation that times are looking bad and businesses are going bankrupt all over. DHS appears to not be too worried about money and expenses, since they allow the use of taxpayer-funded expensive full-size SUVs to be used for personal use and to transport family and friends of government DHS workers in an off-duty status.
This activity of off-duty use of a government vehicle is especially disturbing in that the potential of someone not particularly liking the DHS could direct their dislike toward the occupants of the DHS vehicle – whether DHS or not – and cause them harm. As taxpayers, we would not in any way deny medical treatment to any DHS government worker hurt in the line of duty, but we might have a little problem having to be responsible for the DHS worker’s family and friends who might have been caught up in that type of retaliation merely by being associated with, and riding inside, the DHS vehicle.
It is no secret that the newly organized FEMA Camps, Federal Government Police Force, Fusion Centers, and our politicians’ continual erosion efforts of the Second Amendment would give cause for one to wonder just where our priorities are going and what is happening to America.
If anyone agrees that there is something wrong going on here, please voice your opinion and do it quickly before your name and your family’s name goes into a mandated federal data bank, to be used and abused. Gun registration is just the start of this compiling of data.
