MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET CELEBRATED OPENING NIGHT FEB. 19
MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET opened at Harrah’s Las Vegas Feb. 19 to an enthusiastic, full house in the Harrah’s Showroom. The smash-hit production is inspired by extraordinary true story of the fateful evening that brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley together for one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll jam sessions in history.
The performance had the crowd movin’ and shakin’ as the cast rocked out to nostalgic hits such as “Blue Suede Shoes,” “I Walk the Line,” “Great Balls of Fire,”“Sixteen Tons,” “Who Do You Love?,” “Fever,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On,” “Hound Dog,” and more.

BOYZ II MEN BRING ‘MOTOWN PHILLY’ STYLE TO THE MIRAGE
Four-time GRAMMY Award-winning R&B vocal group Boyz II Men announced today it will begin an extended residency at The Mirage Hotel & Casino beginning March 1, 2013. The trio, featuring baritone Nathan Morris alongside tenors Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman, will perform 78 shows in the Terry Fator Theatre on select weekend dates March 1, 2013 thru December 29, 2013.

LEGENDARY RHYTHM GUITARIST BOB WEIR TO PERFORM SOLO

For nearly 50 years, Bob Weir has been known for being the most distinctive rhythm guitarist in rock ‘n’ roll. Influenced by hard bop pianist McCoy Tyner, John Coltrane and Igor Stravinsky, Weir has brought unusual depth and a new approach to the role of rhythm guitar expression over the years.
At age 17, Weir became the co-founder, guitarist and vocalist of the improvisational jam band Grateful Dead. The band enjoyed a 30-year career with songs written by Weir, including “Truckin’,” “Sugar Magnolia” and “Cassidy.” Weir also found success apart from the group, releasing his first solo album Ace in 1972 and playing in a number of other bands such as Kingfish, Bob Weir Band, Bobby and the Midnites, Scaring the Children, RatDog and Furthur. In 1994, Weir and his band mates of Grateful Dead were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2007 they were honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
