However, you definitely want to look great on your visit and not get too off track with your routine. The truth is you can get a fast and effective workout in with just your body weight, and you don’t even have to spend much time out of your day doing it.
Body-weight exercises are a great way to burn calories and build muscle. They can be done anywhere and anytime. And the best part is you don’t need a gym or a rack of dumbbells; you can do body-weight exercises right in your hotel room. No equipment needed!
Now you may be worried that you just won’t have enough time to work out on your trip, but not to worry. With body-weight exercises you can get a very effective, calorie-burning workout in as little as 20-30 minutes a day. Body-weight exercises utilize a lot of different muscles and can be very challenging metabolically so they really up the calorie burn. Often it’s like getting in a weight-training and cardio workout all at the same time, especially when you include more challenging plyometric-type exercises.
The key to burn the most calories and get the most out of your workout is to keep moving and limit breaks to as-needed during your workout.
You can do this by circuiting right from one exercise to the next and really pushing yourself to work hard. You may just be surprised to find how challenging these exercises really can be!
There are many exercises to include in a body-weight workout, but here are some of my favorites. Completing just 15-20 reps of each exercise for a total of 3 rounds will give you a workout you won’t forget: Squats, Jump Squats, Burpees, Mountain Climbers, Lunges, Lunge Jumps, Push-Ups, Plyometric Pushups, Tricep Dips, Crunches, Planks.
Now if that’s not enough reason to head out and do a body-weight workout right now, you’ll also be glad to know that body-weight exercises are a great way to reduce injuries. This is important because injuries only lead to downtime from your workouts, so prevention of injuries is an ideal way to avoid that downtime as well as the pain you may suffer from the injury.
Body-weight exercises help reduce injuries because they are more forgiving on form than using heavy-loaded exercises and make it difficult to accidentally use too much weight. Additionally, changing up your routine regularly, such as incorporating different exercises or body-weight exercises, is a great way to prevent injuries.
Body-weight exercises provide more functional strength and flexibility and they work your muscles in a different way so you develop more balanced strength and joint stability.
Now if you find yourself getting bored with your current routine, body-weight exercises can really spice things up and add some variety.
If you’ve been doing the same routine for a long time it’s always a good idea to change things up to add a change as well as some fun.
Also, if you’re someone that enjoys a challenge you may find that trying these new exercises can be very challenging and much harder than you may think.
So why not try a body-weight workout on your next visit to Las Vegas or your next trip to anywhere? Body-weight exercises have a lot to offer in the way of freedom, variety, and fun. So what have you got to lose?
