From The Desk Of Gordon Martines
A body of evidence ignored by the LVMPD
Supposedly, the police department of any community is chartered and required to investigate criminal activity that occurs in their entire jurisdiction — such as the LVMPD is supposed to do for the county of Clark, Nevada.
The Sheriff of Clark County is the highest-ranking law enforcement elected official in Clark County Nevada. Besides his duties to enforce the law equally and fairly, the Sheriff is in charge of the jail, and is also the guardian of his constituent’s constitutional rights, the job for which he/she was personally elected to do.
Sadly, the past and current sheriffs of our community have not performed their duties properly. In fact, the past and current sheriff, Joe Lombardo (the anointed shoulder tapped sheriff), have continued on the beaten path of deception, cover-ups, and disgrace.
As examples to substantiate my alleged claim, let us examine past and present alleged unsolved criminal and wrongful acts committed by the LVMPD.
—The 1981 cover-up of Sylvester Stallone’s child molestation criminal act against a 13-year-old mentally retarded female,
—The 1997 Ron Mortensen, Christopher Brady, Daniel Mendoza, murder cover-up, police misconduct, prosecution misconduct, and Judicial misconduct,
—The 2001 strangulation murder cover-up of Phillip La Menn, in the Clark County Detention Center, committed by Correction Officers,
—The 2006 murder cover-up of handcuffed prisoner Suave Lopez and the subsequent omitted and changed physical evidence and lies submitted to the Coroner’s Inquest,
—The 2007 unsolved murder case of LVMPD Officer Kevin Scott Dailey, whose severed head was found in the desert after a month-long uninvestigated absence from work at the Clark County Detention Center and the cover-up of NO investigation, and the disappearance of the autopsy report from the Clark County Coroners’ records database, six
hours after it was submitted and transferred to computer records,
—The 2010 cover-up and deceptive and false reports of the Travon Cole, Officer-Involved Fatal Shooting,
—The 2010 cover-up and deceptive and false reports of the Eric Scott, officer-involved fatal shooting, occurring at Costco, involving evidence-tampering, illegal searches, and dissuading witnesses,
—The 2010 officer-involved fatal shooting of Stanley Gibson, the cover-up, deceptive reports, and the misapplication of responsibility for the real reason and personal responsibility of this egregious incident,
—The April 1996 cover-up and murder of a registered LVMPD narcotics informant in Alamo, NV, whereby the LVMPD Narcotics Section was complicit in the murder of this informant by supplying illegal drug
dealers with the identity of the informant,
—The 2007, 42 million dollar taxpayer waste of money for a previously known to be defective police radio system that was adopted, that also used up another 26 million dollars in taxpayer monies to try to fix the radio system, which failed again, and went into the private pockets of the police administration without any accountability whatsoever,
—The cover-up and destruction of official documents pertaining to police helicopter crashes and the death of a police officer,
—The cover-up and proper investigation of the murder suicide of LVMPD Lt. Hans Walters,
—The cover-up and proper investigation of the alleged suicide of Lt. Chris Van Cleef,
—The cover-up and proper investigation of the murder and execution of Sgt. Henry Prendes,
—The 2010 cover-up and proper investigation of Election Law violations committed by former Sheriff Douglas Gillespie, along with improper conduct committed by former Director Karen Jenkins; and of course, let us not forget about…
—The year 2000, and the one billion dollar theft from Nevada Taxpayers by then-Attorney General Brain Sandoval, now Governor Brian Sandoval, and former Governor Kenny Guinn, whereby they conspired with others to illegally transfer one billion dollars from the State Treasury into the private bank accounts of Employees Insurance Company of Nevada (EICON), for their private use, instead of being used for disability and workman’s compensation claims.
A complaint by then Assistant Attorney General David Otto, Esq,, submitted to the Washoe County District court in 2006, against (EICON) for not placing the money into a trust, has never been addressed or acknowledged by that court and has been shoved under the rug, and ignored.
Until these egregious criminal acts are properly addressed and investigated by our law enforcement leaders, there will always remain a big stain on the supposed integrity, honor and trust that the police department must have in order to operate honorably, efficiently, and with ethics.
IN GOD WE TRUST.
