I meet such interesting people during my travels!
Staying at Elaine’s Hollywood B&B offered a behind-the-scenes look at Hollywood celebrities. Avik, Elaine’s husband, is a photographer associated with the Hollywood Foreign Press and he covers the film events and Academy Awards around Hollywood. Avik interviews and photographs the nominees for the Oscars and is invited to the film studios at the previews of new film releases. After fifty years, Avik has an amazing collection of photographs and is very happy to discuss some of his experiences and stories.
Elaine and Avik are very knowledgeable about Hollywood, Los Angeles and the other nearby cities. They would be happy to lend their membership cards to the Los Angeles County Art Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and other attractions. Elaine and Avik also know about all of the restaurants and could recommend the best of each style of cuisine.
Whenever guests are new to Hollywood, they provide a quick introduction to things to do and exciting places to go.
Elaine suggests Hollywood’s attractions- the Walk of Fame (5-6 blocks), the famous Madam Tussauds, Chinese Theater (3 blocks), and many others. Beverly Hills (3 miles) and the Santa Monica beach are must see stops.
Around their home, I enjoyed having many choices of places to relax around their home. Couples take a bottle of wine and two glasses to sit on the big front porch overlooking trees and greenery. The bench for two, in the back yard, has a romantic setting or you can meet guests from around the world.
Avik described their B&B experience, “Guests have a key and can come in and out anytime. It’s a home.”
With the beauty of a home designed in the style of 20th Century, 1910 architecture, this is like taking a trip back in time yet everything is up-to-date inside.
Elaine’s B&B offers 4 guest rooms each with their own private bathroom.
The Pink Room has one of the largest balconies overlooking the landscaped back yard. Sometimes Elaine and Avik arrange BBQ’s in the back yard and invite their guests.
Elaine explained, “If anyone wants to eat close-by, there’s a restaurant on the corner. We go there ourselves.”
Elaine’s Hollywood B&B Inn is located at 1616 North Sierra Bonita Avenue, in Hollywood, California (between Sunset Boulevard and Hollywood Boulevard). Parking is available in their driveway. (323) 850-0766. www.elaineshollywoodbedandbreakfast.com

Great article Sandy! Who wouldn’t love to stay in this amazing place. Our goal for The Transformation Station is to create the same magical setting with a Garden of Eden and a house full of alternative healing experts and survivors. Getting well can be as fun as a luxury vacation.
