NBC’s popular reality show “America’s Got Talent” (“AGT”) has surprised the public with their winners for Season 7. This is the first time a dog act has ever made the finals and won the competition.
“AGT” is here in Las Vegas, at the Palazzo Resort, providing a show with the viewer’s choices of the winner and top contenders. Now you can see them live and decide for yourself if you agree.
The Olate Dogs perform several precision non-stop numbers. The cute all-dog Conga line has them looking like chorus girls. There is the dog-jumping-rope trick, dog driving a small jeep, back flips, and other routines.
Each number is fast so if the dogs make a mistake perhaps the audience doesn’t even realize because the trainers quickly place them back again.
When one dog refused to go down the slide, the trainer removed it and immediately placed the dog back in the right position again.
The action continues throughout their segment then the acts change so the audience has a chance to see the other top “AGT” performers until the Olate Dogs return for their second act.
The Olate’s short non-stop segments were great but as first place winner of $1,000,000 and a contract to headline at a Las Vegas Hotel, can the Olate Dog act keep an audience interested for an hour or hour-and-a-half? Perhaps if they were accompanied by specialty acts or a singer between their numbers like at the “AGT” show.
Well, the acts were very different this year especially William Close and his Earth Harp (Third), Musical artist David Garibaldi and his CMYKs/ Dancing Painters (Fourth), Joe Castillo- Sand Artist (Fifth) and the Electronic Storytellers Lightwire Theater, but of course the others were more traditional: The Olate Dogs (Winner), Tom Cotter- Comedian (Second), along with “AGT” fan favorites concert pianist Raja with illusionist Jarrett and 13 year old singer Anna Graceman.
This is a great show for all ages!
