Whenever “America’s Got Talent” appears in Las Vegas it is an opportunity to see the most unusual as well as the best performers today.
How do illusions and music mix? Beyond the usual, Illusionist Jarrett and Concert Pianist Raja bring illusions to a new level. The duo worked well together with their own interpretation combining music with illusions.
During the show, Raja was playing his piano inside a large box that was propelled up to the top of the stage and suddenly the box splattered into pieces! Where was Raja? I don’t want to spoil the illusion by telling you.
I was disappointed after the other acts appeared in their short segments they returned again for more but Jarrett and Raja were just scheduled for one act.
The most original act was the electronic storytellers Lightwire Theater that stood-out for their creativity. The group performed a bold mix of music, dance and electronic art. Some of the designs imitated animals in many shapes and sizes.
Their best routines had falling leaves and multiple actions at the same time. These became colorful scenes which dazzled the audience.
The Lightwire Theater act was performed in the dark with special lighting materials in their costumes which were outlined in electroluminescent wires. This marks a new beginning of the possibilities of what can be done utilizing electronic art on the stage.
Another enjoyably different act was the musical speed painting artist David Gariboldi and his dancing assistants. His instant paintings are incredible in their vivid colors and
With fresh material, headline comedian Tom Cotter (Second Place Winner) brought comedy to the variety show.
A fan fav, Anna Graceman, the pretty 13-year old singer performed a nice mix of popular songs.
The Olate Dogs (First Place Winner) will be reviewed soon.
