My Point of View By Rolando Larraz
In our first of July editorial edition, we wrote the following: “We are becoming a country without history, a country without heritage, a country without a past, and perhaps this may be the last year we have the opportunity to show respect to our American Patriots and the best country of them all.”
This week Wayne Allyn Root wrote a column that everyone who lives in the United States, everyone who votes, and everyone who loves this great nation should read. I don’t know how to find that column; it was sent to me by a friend who subscribed to his emails, but absolutely everyone needs to read that column.
I don’t know the title of it, but it is a very good column and it will open the eyes of all those American people who claim they love this country.
I don’t particularly like Wayne Allyn Root because I don’t like people who think they are better than me, but I like his columns and I like his mentality and I generally agree with his opinions.
A long time ago, before Wayne Allyn Root became popular, before he was writing for the Review-Journal, before he even had a popular radio show program, before he became “Wayne Allyn Root,” I asked him to be a guest on my radio show and he took the attitude of “my poop doesn’t stink” and sent an assistant to get all the details of my radio show, which I gave to her but I never continued the conversation because I am not used to dealing with middlemen, be they male or female. I always deal with the principals because I am a principal myself and I also have a name and history in this town, having been living here, in the city of Las Vegas and the county of Clark, state of Nevada, for sixty-two years.
I‘ve had the “best” of Las Vegas on my radio show; people I liked and people I didn’t like, but people that the community considered important and well known, like Chris G., my friend Oscar Goodman, Oscar’s wife, Mayor Carolyn Goodman, Larry Weekly, Michael McDonald, Larry Burns, Michele Fiore, my friend Stavros Anthony, and many others as important as Wayne Allyn Root thinks he is.
I even asked Wayne Allyn Root to allow me to run his columns after he left the Review-Journal. I didn’t even ask him why he was no longer with the daily newspaper.
I believe he is a good spokesperson for President Trump and that is all I want — people, besides myself, who can point out the good of our president because perhaps he will prove to be the last of the good presidents before the communists take over this country in November.
Ironically, Wayne Allyn Root is asking in his column that people donate time and effort, even if it is only two hours a week, but he cannot donate the same column that he sends to lots of people so the 2,500 registered readers on our subscription list can learn more about our president.
“Start preaching the gospel. Educate every person you know. But, don’t stop there. It’s time to volunteer your time. An hour a week, or two, or three, just for the next four months,” Root wrote in his column but he cannot donate his talent (his already-written column) to the Las Vegas Tribune.
I started this newspaper twenty-two years ago with the same good intentions that Wayne Allyn Root started his radio show and was able to infiltrate his talent into the daily newspaper until they realized that he was not on the same page, editorially, as the millionaire who owns the RJ.
We have been financing the Las Vegas Tribune ourselves for a very long time because of people like Harry Reid and dirty Democrats who refuse to allow their friends to advertise their services or products in our newspaper.
Our Editor, as well as our Production Manager and all the writers for the Las Vegas Tribune are donating their talents on behalf of our freedom and our future because they believe in what we are doing.
We are lucky to have local writers donating their talent, but we do not have someone writing about our president and the dangerous consequences we will suffer if we do not elect him to a second term.
I know that our president has some flaws, but still within a democratic and not a communist mentality or a totalitarian mindset as the Democrats try to impose upon the nation.
Regardless of how I feel about Wayne Allyn Root, I urge everyone who loves this country to read his column before voting in this election because it may be the last Democratic election we may have in this wonderful country.
I was lucky to be one of those Cubans who never lived under the communist regime that took over my country sixty-one years ago. I am lucky enough to have been a Nevada resident for those sixty-one years and I am grateful to have been able to speak my mind and write my opinion in both of my languages ever since I arrived at McCarran Airport all those many years ago.
I am proud to have been the host of the first Spanish radio show on KRGN-FM, the publisher of the first Spanish newspaper, La Verdad, in
1963, and with my late brother, Antonio, had the first Spanish television show on KVVU Channel 5.
Exposing corruption and police abuse has been a big part of my life and now more than ever I will not change because the longer I live in Las Vegas the more I love this city, and I would not like to see it end up in the hands of a bunch of communists.
My name is Rolando Larraz, and as always, I approved this column.
